Two Huge Title Matches Set For Upcoming NXT Episodes, Triple H Comments

Last night's episode of NXT TV saw Dakota Kai go up against Mercedes Martinez in Singles action. This match was reportedly done as a way for Martinez to get rid of Kai before the NXT Women's Title Match. The match ended in a DQ after Gonzalez attacked Martinez as Martinez was about to beat Kai. After the bell, Gonzalez totally annihilated Martinez and stood tall over her with her title in the air.

Due to this, WWE announced that NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez will defend her title on the May 11th episode of NXT against Mercedes Martinez. This will be Raquel Gonzalez’s first title match since becoming the NXT Women's Champion in the TakeOver: Stand And Deliver Night One main event.

Last night’s NXT episode also saw Bronson Reed beat Austin Theory to earn an NXT North American Title shot from Johnny Gargano. Bronson Reed faced Johnny Gargano earlier this month at the TakeOver: Stand And Deliver Night Two Event, but Gargano retained after some interference by Theory.

It would then be confirmed that Bronson Reed will challenge Johnny Gargano for the NXT North American Title in an upcoming episode of NXT. The exact date for this North American Championship Match hasn't been confirmed, but it is possible that it will also take place on the May 11th episode.
