Two Individuals Arrested, Charged In Death Of Former WWE NXT Wrestler Knuckles Madsen

The United States Marshals Service has arrested two individuals in the death of a former WWE NXT wrestler.

Kevin Nikel, 41, was shot and killed in early July. Nikel wrestled in WWE NXT as Knuckles Madsen and circumstances surrounding his death were not known at the time, but it was announced today that Michael Hogue and Amanda Penny were both arrested earlier this week. Hogue has since been charged with first-degree murder and Penny has been charged with accomplice to first-degree murder. Both had previous charges against them for possessing firearms.

Nikel's mother, Susan Kinderman, spoke to 5News and revealed that Penny and Nikel were once married, having been together since high school. However, they grew apart, things between them got progressively worse and eventually the couple divorced. Kinderman said she didn't know Hogue that well but that he began working for Penny and then the two eventually began a relationship. She added that she feels an argument between the three of them on that day led to Nikel's death.

"We still don't know exactly what happened when he got shot. The detectives have been pretty close lipped on that, which is good, but we'd still like to know exactly what happened and who did what. There was some kind of an argument. Maybe there was texting going back and forth. I think they enticed Kevin to meet up with them. I was told by the detectives that there was some kind of altercation. Shots were fired, and Kevin was killed, and that's all we really know."

"I just hope that we have a lot of answers. I know that the justice system will work. Whatever penalty they get, I'm fine with. But instead of that, I want to make sure that we know exactly what happened and why. I would like to hear it from them. I don't know if I will, but I would rather hear from those two, and we'll just have to see how that comes out."
