As previously reported, a WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Contenders Matchup took place last Monday night on RAW between WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina and Eva Marie and Doudrop, who were looking to earn a future shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. At one point during the match, Natalya and Doudrop were going at it when all of a sudden Natalya seemingly injured her right leg due to a roll-over, or maybe even a stomp courtesy of Doudrop.
Natalya then tagged out of the match and Tamina ended the match with a 1-on-2 disadvantage, but still managed to secure a pinfall victory after hitting a superkick on Eva Marie following a distraction by Lilly on the big screen. Immediately after the match, Natalya, who couldn't walk under her own power, was helped to the back by Tamina and a ringside medic.
An update was recently provided by PWInsider.com that Natalya suffered an ankle injury and that she's scheduled to undergo an MRI some time this week. Natalya also took to her Instagram and revealed that she was boarding a plane and taking a flight to a location she did not mention, but it's possible the location where one-half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions is headed to is Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama, where WWE often sends their talents to get checked out after suffering an injury.
Natalya previously took to her Twitter and thanked the fans for their kind words regarding the events that transpired on RAW this past Monday night and said there are beatings you can't plan for, but she is willing to do anything to continue doing what she loves.
There is still no word on the severity of Natalya's injury or if she will be forced to take some time off, but updates will be provided once it is made available.
You can check out Natalya's tweet below:
Thank you to everyone for the kind words about what happened on #WWERaw.
There are the beatings you can plan for, and the ones you can’t. That’s the job. But I’m willing to give whatever bones, muscles and tendons I have to continue doing what I love. Good thing I’m UNBREAKABLE. pic.twitter.com/2K18Lj6IgE
