WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes suffered an eye injury during his match last night against Randy Orton that turned gruesome quickly. WWE later posted a graphic video clip which showed Rhodes being attended to by medical personnel following the match.
Following the match, Rhodes was put into the WWE concussion protocol and BodySlam+ reported that Rhodes required multiple staples in his head as well. WWE also pulled him from his both WWE World and a scheduled photo session today.
PWInsider reported that the spot where the eye injury happened was when Randy Orton punched him right before the eye poke that led to Orton nailing ref Charles Robinson with the RKO.
