There has been more movement in the ongoing TBS Women's Championship tournament following Wednesday night's edition of AEW Dynamite.
Hikaru Shida defeated Serena Deeb to advance to the second round of the tourney, making history in the process as she also became the first woman in AEW to reach 50 wins.
With the victory, Shida moves on to face Nyla Rose in the next round of the tourney. The winner of that bout will then face the winner of the Ruby Soho vs. Kris Statlander second round tourney match that is coming up in the near future.
Still waiting for their second round opponents on the other side of the tourney bracket are Thunder Rosa and Jade Cargill. Rosa will face the winner of the first round match between Anna Jay and Jamie Hayter, while Cargill will square off against the winner of the first round bout pitting The Bunny against Red Velvet.
The TBS Women's Championship Tournament will conclude with the finals of the tourney to crown the inaugural TBS Women's Champion taking place on the debut edition of AEW Dynamite on TBS when the show moves from TNT to TBS on January 5, 2022.
