Updated On NXT Talent Who Suffered Knee Injury Earlier This Month

-- Earlier this month, NXT wrestler Javier Bernal announced on his Twitch stream that he had suffered a broken foot that would require surgery and sidelined him for up to six months. The injury aired during Friday's episode of the pre-taped NXT Level Up where Bernal was in a tag team match with Drake Morreaux against Chase U. At one point during the match, Riley Osborne executed a dive to the outside of the ring where Bernal's leg buckled. He was unable to return to his feet without assistance from officials and his partner, who ultimately helped him get to the back.

-- According to Corey Brennan of fightfulselect.com, it's not known if the sudden injury altered the finish of the match, however, what he did report is that NXT officials did not direct any internal heat towards Osborne for the injury, chalking it up more as an accident rather than negligence. The story adds that Bernal, who has been with WWE since early 2022, has received praise backstage for his commitment to his character as well as his professional demeanor when working with other NXT talent. One person within NXT believed that when Bernal returns later this year, he will absolutely "pick up where he left off" with his character and work.
