The main event segment of last night's episode of SmackDown concluded with Seth Rollins on top of the ladder, while he was holding the Money in the Bank briefcase. Immediately after SmackDown ended, Seth grabbed the mic and addressed the WWE Universe inside the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas and said he will be “the future and forever Mr. Money in the Bank” by winning the Money in the Bank briefcase for a second time this Sunday at the Money in the Bank PPV.
This would then lead to Kevin Owens making his way down to the ring and demanding that Seth come down from the ladder so that he can shake Seth's hands. Seth Rollins then refused to follow Owens and that would lead to several WWE Superstars making their way down to the ring for an impromptu Battle Royal.
Big E would come out of the Battle Royal as the winner by last eliminating Apollo Crews. After he won the match, Big E then addressed the crowd and said, “Each and every one of you were incredible. Thank you for your energy.” WWE SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee also addressed the crowd inside the Toyota Center and received a lot of cheers.
