Boneyard Match
Undertaker vs. AJ Styles

Now it's time for the one many have been anticipating the most on the WrestleMania 36 card, as the icon of WrestleMania -- The Undertaker -- is out next, as is AJ Styles.

It's Boneyard Match time! To the surprise of everyone and what will be one of the bigger talking points of the show this year, "The Dead Man" did not show up -- at first.

We see a graveyard, headstone by headstone as a hearse pulls into the graveyard. As the hearse door opens up, we see a casket. The casket lid slowly opens, and surprisingly, it's AJ Styles! Styles sits up with his arms crossing his chest. Styles begins to laugh as he climbs out of the casket. Styles looks around the graveyard as he states it isn't so scary, Styles asks where 'Taker is, stating he's ready. A motorcycle sounds in the distance. Styles still smiling, stating, "Come on big man". Metallica plays in the background as a motorcycles flies down the road, 'Taker pulling up to the graveyard.

Undertaker slowly walks up to Styles, only 'Takers silhouette showing through the headlight of his motorcycle mixed with the smokey graveyard. Styles asks if Michelle knows 'Taker is out this late. Styles says he did a courtesy and dug 'Takers grave. 'Taker states Styles dug his own grave. Styles grabs a rock, 'Taker begins throwing strikes at Styles before Styles has a chance to use it. Styles tries to run. 'Taker shouts, "Allen, where you going son?" 'Taker slams Styles on the hearse several times.

The Undertaker dusted off his old "American Bad Ass" biker gimmick for the show, entering the graveyard-like site that the Boneyard Match setting took place as his old WWE Attitude Era character.

The duo of The O.C. would get involved, at one point 'Taker and Styles exchange blows beside the freshly dug grave, 'Taker gets the advantage as he knocks Styles into the hole. 'Taker looks down to Styles as he asks Styles how it feels in there to which Styles simply replied, "Hey jackass, we're just getting started." With that, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows appear side by side.

As 'Taker steps towards Anderson and Gallows, they pull the siding off of the building they're next to, several men in black with their faces covered by hoods begin stepping towards 'Taker. 'Taker mows down all the hooded figures just in time to have Anderson and Gallows attack him as well. 'Taker gets the upper hand on Anderson, only to have Styles reappear and clobber 'Taker with a tombstone.

Still not the end, however, as "The Phenom" of WWE wasn't done pulling out all the tricks, as he did eventually morph into his "Dead Man" persona to close out the match, scoring the victory over "The Phenomenal One" and adding to his legendary WrestleMania win/loss record.

The finish saw 'Taker put Styles in a grave, Styles desperately asking 'Taker not to bury him as he apologized profusely. 'Taker then questions Styles as to what he's sorry for. 'Taker hugs Styles and begins to turn away, only to turn back and kick Styles into the open grave. 'Taker then filled the grave with dirt via a nearby tractor. The gong goes off a couple of times and Undertaker gets out of the tractor and removes a cover off of the tombstone over the grave, which reads, "AJ Styles 1977 - 2020 -- Rest In Peace."

Undertaker gets back on his motorcycle to end the show as his "American Bad Ass" character once again rides off, Metallica playing him out. A burst of fire shoots towards a nearby barn, The Undertaker's emblem left in the fiery outline as we see AJ Styles' hand come up through the dirt he is buried under. That does it for night one of WrestleMania 36. Make sure to join us here again on Sunday night for live results coverage of WrestleMania 36 part two.
