"The Alpha" not only beat "The Ocho" on Wednesday night, he did it in style.
Following Konosuke Takeshita's victory over Chris Jericho with Jericho's own Walls of Jericho / Liontamer submission finisher on this week's AEW Dynamite show from the Footprint Center in Phoenix, AZ., the match was discussed by Dave Meltzer on Thursday's episode of his Wrestling Observer Radio program for subscribers of F4WOnline.com.
During the discussion, the longtime Wrestling Observer Newsletter editor spoke about wrestling legend Chris Jericho being the highest-paid wrestler on the current AEW talent roster.
"I think he’s the highest-paid guy in the company," Meltzer said before confirming that he is. "He is the highest-paid guy in the company," he added, "and it’s like, you really want to protect that investment if you’re paying a guy that much money."
Meltzer continued, "I mean, you can get anyone to put over these guys. It’s like you need to have him lose when the losses mean [something] again. But it’s great for [Konosuke] Takeshita."
