Welcome to WWE Backlash!
Welcome back, one and all, big and small, short and tall, to our live results coverage of our now-traditional post-WrestleMania premium live event, Backlash! There are five matches slated for tonight's card, which airs LIVE from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. Our program starts at 7pm EST. Of our five matches, several are for gold. "The Last Champion" John Cena defends his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton in what's believed to be their final singles match.
United States Champion Jacob Fatu defends in a Fatal 4-Way against LA Knight, Damian Priest, and Drew McIntyre. Also up for grabs is the Women's Intercontinental Championship, as Lyra Valkyria defends against former tag partner and mentor Becky Lynch. On the men's side, Dominik Mysterio defends his Intercontinental Championship against Penta. And in non-title, singles action, Pat McAfee takes on Gunther.
We'll have all this and many, many minutes of filler high-quality vignettes starting tonight when our broadcast goes live! As always, feel free to weigh in below with your predictions or anything you want! Our show starts live at 7pm Eastern--that's 6pm Central, 5pm Mountain, and 4pm for you West Coasties.
Backlash Pre-Show Coverage
As of 5:55pm EST, the pre-show nonsense is airing. Michael Cole, Wade Barrett, and Big E delightfully discuss the build-up to tonight's show and express their concerns for Pat McAfee. At 6pm EST, the team transitions to Cathy Kelley and...oh god damnit, I forget this guy's name literally every month and have for 7 years. Sam? Tom? Tim? Ethan? Before you flame me below, realize that if you truly cared as much as you pretend, you'd be watching him live right now and not reading these results! Any who, I digress.
Sorry, dear reader, it's been a long weekend. Just like our pre-show panel, I, too, am trying to kill time by talking about things that are either obvious, irrelevant, or otherwise just things meant to eat up a few words. Not that I get paid by the word, mind you. Holy smokes, can you imagine if I got paid by the word? The next four hour and 7500 words spent with you all would be all the more sweeter! But I digress. We're treated to clips of Backlash: France, which had the epic crowd. Why'd you go and remind us what we had? Especially with what we're getting? I'm literally shaking my head. That's like being reminded you once had Trish Stratus when you stuck with Charlotte Flair, you know? We get clips from Bad Bunny's match against Damian Priest, and other filler not worth me even trying to pretend to cover. Oh, we do hear from Dominik Mysterio at about 6:40pm in a great backstage interview with Byron Saxton. I think that's Byron. Well, shit, if it's not then oops. Not racist, just high.
WWE Backlash Live Results (May 10, 2025) - Enterprise Center - St. Louis, MO
Our live results coverage begins when the program does! Sorry, I'm not legally allowed to spoil the future anymore. Just before the top of the hour, we get Pershard Evans I believe it was, who does a decent rendition of the American national anthem. We then see the St. Louis skyline as Michael Cole introduces us to "the Gateway to the West" and reads off a tourist's cheat-sheet on the city and it's sights. We're then treated to the arrivals and backstage glimpses at various Superstars, ranging from Pat to Gunther and Lyra to Becky. We then get our opening vignette. The first match is coming up soon, folks!
United States Championship Fatal 4-Way: Jacob Fatu(c) vs LA Knight vs Damian Priest vs Drew
LA Knight (yeah!) is out first to a decent pop...but not a France pop. Out next is Drew McIntyre to a solid reaction of his own. Third man out is the Temu Taker himself, Damian Priest. Our champ is out last to a fantastic reaction. This man is over. He gets pyro and makes his way out at 7:11pm and we get the bell approximately two minutes later. All four men stare each other down, except LA Knight who takes time to jaw off. The crowd is clearly behind Fatu. Priest and McIntyre lock-up as Knight & Fatu battle into the corner. Fatu throws Knight into the corner easily as Priest & McIntyre brawl to the outside. Knight drops Fatu with a neckbreaker, then takes down an entering priest with a slam before hitting a move to the outside to wipe out McIntyre. Knight continues to stay on fire in the early moments, dropping everyone who bothers to get up. He plays to the crowd and avoids a Chokeslam from Priest.
Knight continues to stay in control, battering a downed Priest. Fatu looks for a Samoan Drop but Knight counters it into a neckbreaker! Wade Barret said it best when he called this a "two-minute highlight wheel" of LA Knight. Knight and Priest decide to work together on Fatu, dropping the big man twice. Priest and Knight work together for several seconds until Knight attempts to turn on Priest. Priest dodges it; McIntyre enters the chat and drops both men with neckbreakers. Drew hits a third, on Fatu, then kips-up to a pop. Drew lines up Fatu for a Claymore but is intercepted by LA Knight. Fatu drops Knight. Fatu kicks Knight's body out of the ring and begins to fight with Priest. Priest and Fatu battle up on the turnbuckles until Priest uses a Hurricanrana to send Fatu flying. Priest looks for an Old School as the action picks up and all four men get involved.
Fatu begins to fire up as does Drew; the chaos spills to the outside and sees Knight & Priest dropped. Fatu gets a big pop and enters the ring, entering a stare-down with a rallying Drew McIntyre. They jaw off-mic then begin to exchange massive blows, much to the delight of the crowd. Fatu finally gets the better hand of Drew to a big pop, battering the challenger into the corner. Fatu takes a little too long climbing the turnbuckles, allowing McIntyre to rally and cross over. McIntyre pushes his thumbs into the champ's eyes. LA Knight comes to the rescue and begins to lay into McIntyre. Finally, Fatu gets his second wind out of nowhere and begins to clean house.
A huge Swanton off the top to Drew from the champ! Fatu celebrates--and eats a Blunt Force Trauma From Knight, who eats a South of Heaven Chokeslam from Priest, who then eats a Claymore from Drew McIntyre! A cover is made but broken at 7:23pm and the crowd weakly rips off a "this is awesome" chant. Sorry, St. Louis, but you're no Paris. After a few moments, McIntyre begins to clear house with Future Shock DDTs. Fatu, Priest, and Knight all eat one. Drew heads to the corner and counts down, executing a Claymore on LA Knight. McIntyre covers but Priest rips the ref out of the ring! McIntyre is livid, reminded of how Priest cost him the title in the past.
The two brawl to the outside. Inside the ring, Fatu rallies and sets up Knight. Fatu heads up top and looks for a Moonsault but Knight rolls out of the way! Knight heads up top and hits a big elbow, then a second off the top! Knight covers but Fatu gets the shoulder up! McIntyre and Priest have continued to brawl out into the floor seats. Priest tells the camera that Drew's "bored at work" (a reference to a Twitter post from WM by Drew, mid-match, iirc) and they're shown brawling to a big equipment crate. Drew sets up Priest for a DDT off the top but Priest rakes McIntyre's eyes and the two continue to brawl, eventually wiping each other out off the crate. We cut back to the ring and find Knight working over Fatu outside the ring. Knight sends Fatu onto the announce table and uses the commentary table topper as a weapon.
Knight lays Fatu on top of the commentary table and heads to the ring and heads up to the middle turnbuckle. Before he can strike, Solo Sikoa makes the save, dragging Fatu off the table! Knight is clearly shown saying "what the fuck?" He follows and is blindsided by debuting Jeff Cobb! Cobb gets a mild pop and begins to destroy Knight. He sends Knight into the ring and Fatu recovers. Fatu eyes them then heads into the ring. Fatu looks confused but begins to lay into Knight. Fatu with a big running corner strike. Fatu positions Knight, heads up top and hits his fancy Moonsault. Fatu covers and picks up the win at 7:31pm! Solo Sikoa and Jeff Cobb are shown watching Fatu from the ringside area. Fatu eventually approaches them on the ramp and walks right past them.
Your Winner AND STILL United States Champion, Jacob Fatu!
Women's Intercontinental Championship Match: Lyra Valkyria(c) vs Becky Lynch
After quite a lot of video hyping this, we get Becky Lynch's entrance as 7:40pm. Lyra is out next at 7:41pm, complete with bird wings on her arms, because nothing screams fearsome like bird wing arms. We get our bell at 7:42pm. We're reminded a half-dozen times that the last time these two faced off in singles competition, Lyra defeated Becky for her Women's NXT Championship. Becky starts us off by taking Lyra into the corner. The ref warns her off. The two exchange counters in the early moments, with Becky looking to cinch in a rear hold on Lyra. The champ continues to fight her off. The opening several moments are honestly just Lynch/Lyra trying to lock up each other, multiple counters, and a few basic working holds. Around 7:44pm, Lyra engages in a series of Surfboard stretches in a unique way, constantly readjusting and reapplying it.
Lyra battles Becky to the outside, using a Baseball sliding kick to send Lynch crashing into the barricade. Lynch, however, begins to rally and takes a stretch in control. Lynch plays to the crowd and begins to taunt Lyra, brutally pummeling the champ across the back while rubbing her face into the canvas. Becky uses a slower pace and strikes to soften the champ and wear down her stamina. Becky and Lyra begin to battle in the corner as the champ looks to show life--only for Lynch to shut her down with a Becksploder Suplex for a two count. The two battle to the outside again. Lynch takes Lyra to the barricade and slams her into it--right in front of, apparently, Lyra's fiance' per Michael Cole. She mocks Lyra and her fiance', then takes the action back into the ring. Lynch slaps the face of the champ and taunts her. Lyra rises, defiantly, and begins to fight back.
Lyra begins a comeback sequence right at 7:50pm, culminating with a package driver I believe. The crowd pops for this. Lyra tries to fire herself up and roars. Lyra with a running clothesline, then another, followed by a very weak-looking strike sequence. Lyra with a cartwheel into an Enziguri, covering for a two. Lyra looks distraught when that didn't put Lynch away. Lynch and Lyra battle into the corner, then up the turnbuckles as the crowd comes alive and begins a dueling chant. Lyra hits a stalling Superplex on Lynch, covering for a short two. Lyra and Lynch attempt opposing roll-ups, with the ref catching Lynch holding onto the ropes. Lynch drives Lyra into the canvas again and covers but for a two. Long moments pass and the crowd tries to fire up both women. Lynch rises, begging Lyra to rise.
Lynch looks for a Manhandle Slam but Lyra avoids it. Lyra sends Lynch outside then hits a springboard attack to the outside. Lyra takes it back into the ring and hits a Leg Drop off the top rope to the back of Lynch's neck! Beautiful spot at 7:55pm. Lyra covers but no joy. The two rise and begin to slug it out, with the crowd hot for each blow. Both women look for backslides. Lynch drives Lyra into the mat and locks in an arm bar. Lyra escapes and slaps on an arm bar of her own. Lynch breaks it by pushing Lyra's shoulders back, forcing her to break. Lynch locks in the Dis-Arm-Her but Lyra slips out of it. Becky goes for a Manhandle Slam but Lyra escapes; Lynch hits it and connects, but only gets a two. Big pop from the crowd after the high-octane moments. The crowd with a "this is awesome" chant as Lynch snaps, pummeling Lyra.
A distraught Lynch gets a steel chair and takes it into the ring. The ref, Jessica Carr, takes it away. As Carr gets rid of the chair, Lynch quickly uncovers the top turnbuckle in the cover. Lyra sees this and tries to send Lynch into it. Lynch blocks it; the two battle, with Lyra driving Lynch into the canvas and covering for a two. No joy once again. It's now 8pm. Lyra picks Lynch up on her shoulders but Lynch escapes. Lynch shoves Lyra into the corner and hits a Manhandle Slam on her as she rebounds out of the corner. Jessica Carr finally realizes the turnbuckle's been exposed and heads outside the ring to get the covering pad. Lyra hits the Nightwing on Becky but Carr was out of position and enters the ring a little too late, allowing Lynch to kick out. Lyra pulls Lynch up on her shoulders, looking for another Nightwing. Lynch escapes and looks for a Manhandle Slam but Lyra dodges. A series of roll-up attempts culminates with Lyra stealing the win at 8:01pm out of the blue. That was sudden AF. Lynch snaps and begins to pummel Lyra yet again. She slaps a Dis-Arm-Her on Lyra and refuses the break it as the ref implores her. Finally, Jason Jordan, Adam Pierce and others get her to break it off. She leaves as refs and officials check on Lyra.
Your Winner AND STILL Women's Intercontinental Champion, Lyra Valkyria!
Intercontinental Championship Match: Dominik Mysterio(c) vs Penta
Somehow, Gunther/Pat is the penultimate match and not a pair of fan-favorites. Wtf? Okay. This match is next! Penta makes his entrance to a decent pop, looking good in blue. Dominik Mysterio is out next, escorted to the ramp by Finn Balor, Carlito Caribbean Cool, and JD McDwarf. Mysterio's wearing gear inspired by Psychosis. We get the bell at 8:15pm. Penta looks odd in pure blue like that. The two spend the opening minutes at a fast pace, neither man able to take control at first. Mysterio finally sends Penta outside and hits a beautiful suicide dive-into-DDT for a good pop. Mysterio continues to work over Penta outside the ring as the crowd sings to the "Dirty" one. Dom stays in control, slowing the pace drastically with working holds in the ring. Finally, Penta shows signs of life at 8:20pm with a Sling Blade on the champ. Penta climbs the turnbuckles as Dom escapes to the outside.
Penta pivots and dives off the top of the turnbuckle itself, wiping out Dom with a crossbody to a nice pop. The action continues back-and-forth. Dom and Penta jockey for control on the apron, with both men digging deep. Penta eats a running Kitchen Sink and fires off a Mexican Destroyer on the apron! Carlito makes his way out and begins to distract the ref. Balor & JD McD hop over the barricade to attack Penta. Balor has a chance to take out Penta but dilly-dallies around until the ref catches them. The ref sends them to the back. The Judgment Day argue amongst themselves, with Carlito upset especially at Finn for dragging things out. Penta attacks them with a tope move, flying out to wipe out the Judgment Day. Penta heads back into the ring and ascends the turnbuckles. When the ref isn't looking, El Grande Americano attacks and distracts Penta, allowing Dom to attack. Mysterio with a Frog Splash and covers at 8:25pm to pick up the win and retain.
Your Winner AND STILL Intercontinental Champion, Dominik Mysterio!
Singles Match: Gunther vs Pat McAfee
Blah blah blah, yada yada yada, Pat's chest is gonna be bloody after this. Pat begins his entrance at 8:35pm to a decent pop. Cole apologizes in advance because "for the first time" in his career, he's going to "be very biased tonight" towards Pat. He then tells us he wants Pat to put Gunther in his place for what Gunther did a few weeks back. This match is brought to you by Karate Kid Legends, coming out May 30th to a theater near you. Should be on Netflix 45 days after it tanks. Gunther makes entrance at 8:37pm and we get our bell at 8:39pm. The crowd loudly chants "you tapped out" as Pat soaks it in. Gunther and Pat lock up, with Gunther easily shoving Pat off and into the corner. The ref says something to Gunther, no clue why. The two competitors circle and again lock up. Gunther with a side headlock toss, slinging Pat across the ring. Gunther with a wristlock takedown as Wade Barrett seems to doubt Gunther loses two matches within a 3 week span (considering how little he's lost).
Gunther goes for a chop but Pat smartly moves away to a big pop. Gunther smiles, saying "alright," and closes in. The crowd rips off another loud "lets go Pat" chant as they lock up. Pat slaps on a headlock, but Gunther breaks out. Pat with a big right to Gunther. Pat attempts a springboard strike but completely misses the ropes. He doesn't stop, however, closing the distance just in time for Gunther to drop him hard. Gunther begins to lay into Pat with kicks. Pat rises and fires off a punching combination, ending with a chop. Gunther calls for another. Pat with another chop! Gunther calls for more, so Pat delivers! Gunther fires off a solitary chop and drops Pat hard. The crowd didn't like that. Gunther pulls Pat up and...it begins. Gunther begins to beat the shit out of Pat, starting with brutal chops and hard kicks.
Pat tries to fight back with chops, but Gunther again lays into him with chops. A huge Big Boot drops Pat. Cole yells at Gunther to just cover Pat and show mercy. The crowd very loudly begins to chant "you tapped out" to piss off Gunther. He takes it out on Pat. McAfee tries to rally, slapping Gunther. Gunther with a big chop and a German Suplex to drop Pat. Gunther yells at Pat and taunts him, wrenching the neck before slapping on the Sleeper. Pat tries to fight out of it, forcing an arm back. Gunther shuts that shit down with a German Suplex. Cole again appeals to Gunther for mercy; Gunther just laughs as he walks around the ring and taunting the crowd. Gunther sets Pat on the turnbuckle and climbs behind him. The crowd loudly chants for Pat and he begins to rally! Pat sends Gunther down and hits Gunther with a Punt kick of his own. Pat covers but Gunther kicks out almost immediately despite the crowd momentum. Gunther taunts Pat.
Pat begins to unload chops on Gunther; Gunther fires off one of his own. Pat continues to fire off chops, then fists as the crowd stays into this. Pat looks winded but hits a rope-rebounding Big Boot. Pat off the ropes again for a weak "super" kick. Gunther hangs in there and bombs Pat. Gunther slaps a Boston Crab on Pat in the center of the ring. Pat tries to fight out. Michael Cole rips off his headset and goes to the ringside area. The crowd rallies behind Cole as he tries to fire up Pat. Gunther breaks the hold and pounds Pat to taunt Cole. A huge "Michael Cole" chant from the crowd! Gunther drags Cole into the ring! Gunther looks to Powerbomb Cole! McAfee to the rescue with a Big Boot, but Gunther shrugs it off and drops Pat. Pat with a roll-up from behind for a close two on Gunther at 8:51pm. Gunther breaks out and looks for suplex on Pat, who's standing on the ring.
Cole grabs Gunther's leg! Cole's cheating! Pat blocks the Suplex, Gunther's enraged! Pat slaps a Sleeper on Gunther to a massive pop! Gunther escapes, however, and puts the Sleeper on Pat. Pat tries to hang in there, powering to his feet to a big pop. Gunther hangs on, however, and drags him back to the middle of the ring, square on the canvas. Pat is put to sleep at 8:53pm. Cole checks on Pat as Gunther stands over them, smirking.
Your Winner, Gunther!
Undisputed WWE Championship Main Event Match: John Cena(c) vs Randy Orton
Randy Orton begins his entrance at 9:05pm, with the crowd loudly singing him in--but loudest only on the pre-chorus and chorus. St. Louis, my guy, this is your hometown hero an you can't even outshine France. Shame. Shame! John Cena is out next at 9:10pm to another great reaction from the not-France crowd. Disclaimer to our American Readers: if you're offended by our adoration of foreign crowds' reactions to WWE entrances, please do not deport us. Just import more Frenchies. Just like at WrestleMania, John Cena's not giving us anything--he doesn't come out to a tron, just the same black video with his name on it. He walks to the ring with a blue-and-yellow bordered "The Last Time is Now" towel behind his head to big boos. This is Cena's 81st televised world title match, and his record at Backlash is sub-500 at 2-3. They're really stretching these entrances out too long. Like, 2 minutes after the star made it to the ring. We get our introductions by Alicia Taylor then our final bell at 9:14pm.
The crowd pops as our competitors circle. Cena and Orton start us with a collar and elbow tie-up, breaking it off after a few moments of pointless struggle. They circle and lock up again. Same result. Randy gets a great chant from the crowd. John Cena offers a hand to shake but Orton refuses. Cena talks to Orton off mic and offers a handshake again. Orton reaches in for it and Cena jabs him in the eyes. Orton ultimately jabs Cena back in the eyes. Cena flees outside the ring to a pop. Cena hits the ring and they lock up again at 9:17pm. Yeah, this is going to be slowly paced. Orton slaps on a side headlock and we're entering our working holds phase of the match, folks. Get a snack. Cena does typical heel tactics throughout the match, such as leaving the ring and deciding he's "done" and attempting to leave, only for Orton to chase him down and fight him back to the ring. Cena takes control once they enter the ring.
Cena mounts the turnbuckles and begins to unload with fists as the crowd counts along to 7. Orton takes Cena into the corner and mounts the turnbuckles, rapid-firing off punches as the crowd more enthusiastically counts with him to 20 punches. (Yes, the ref is giving them some leeway here.) Orton covers but Cena kicks out easily at two. The action continues, back-and-forth, with neither man taking control for too long. Cena slaps a Sleeper on Orton at 9:22pm, hopping up on Orton's back in efforts to weaken the challenger. Orton squirms free and slaps a Sleeper of his own on Cena; rather, more akin to a chinlock based on the angle. Cena escapes and slaps a Sleeper on Orton. Orton escapes and slaps one on Cena. This goes on multiple times. Both men are finally down and the crowd pops. They're easily entertained, clearly. Cena and Orton rise. Cena begins his comeback sequence, dropping Orton with multiple shoulder tackles before hitting a spinning slam. Cena signals for the Five Knuckle Shuffle drop and connects across Orton's forehead at 9:24pm.
Cena wants an AA but Orton escapes and starts his own comeback, dropping Cena with a spinebuster. Cena rolls to the apron and rises. Orton looks for a Draping DDT but Cena counters and looks for a cover. Orton escapes; Cena slaps in the STFU hold on Orton in the middle of the ring. Orton tries to get to the ropes; Cena attempts to reposition the hold. Orton kicks Cena off and hits the Draping DDT on the champ! Orton rises to a big pop, positions in the middle of the ring, and flops down, calling for the RKO! The crowd are on their feet for this as "the Viper" is ready to strike. He goes for an RKO but Cena shoves him off! Cena hits an Attitude Adjustment on Orton and--wait...we get a replay and it looks like Orton went for an RKO right as Cena hit the AA! Hard to describe but look for it around 9:26-9:27pm. Both men are slow to rise. Cena and Orton begin to exchange slow blows and kicks. Cena hits an AA on Orton out of nowhere, covering for two.
The crowd hits a very, very loud "Let's go Cena/Cena sucks" dueling chant. Orton and Cena clash in the middle of the ring. Cena with a diving shoulder tackle. Orton with an RKO out of nowhere at 9:29pm! Orton can't capitalize on it and doesn't cover. He sees a downed Cena and slightly limps over, sizing him up. He backs up to the corner and goes for the Punt Kick! Cena dodges it just in time and hits another AA! Cena covers! Orton kicks out at 2! Cena looks for a Punt Kick but Orton dodges it just in time. Orton goes for an RKO but Cena shoves Orton off, and right into ref Chad Patton. The ref is down! Cena grins, dropping Orton and telling the crowd to shush very creepily. He exits the ring and taunts Wade Barrett and Michael Cole, then retrieves his Undisputed WWE Championship belt. He enters the ring, intending to use it as a weapon, but Orton hits an RKO out of nowhere at 9:33pm!
Orton covers but the ref is slow to recover. Cena kicks out at 2 (should've been a 4 if the ref wasn't down). The crowd loudly chants "bullshit" as Orton stalks the outside ring area. Orton begins to clear the commentary table, ripping off cables and monitors. Cena attacks him from behind as he's distracted. The ref is down again as Cena continues to dominate Orton outside the ring. Cena taunts the crowd and pulls Orton up, looking for an AA. Orton wiggles free and hoists Cena up! Orton hits the AA on Cena through the commentary table! Orton drags Cena up, talking smack, and smashes Cena's face into the desk rubble. The ref is still down. Orton begins to dig under the ring looking for weapons. He finds a table and pulls it out to a big pop. Orton sets the table up at 9:37pm and takes John Cena around the ring towards the table. Cena fights back and hoists Orton up for an AA; Orton squirms free and picks Cena up, sending Cena through the table with another AA!
The ref is still down as Orton begins to "coil up." Orton with an RKO on Cena in the middle of the ring. Orton covers at 9:39pm and a new official streaks down to the ring, covering for a close two count. Orton wants to argue with the ref but Orton's the dumbass who decided to cover a man while knowing the ref is down. Cena attempts to ambush Orton; Orton counters by firing off an RKO and covering--again, with no ref. The crowd counts to about 15 before changing to boos. GMs Adam Pierce, Nick Aldis, and 3-4 goons come out to check on the refs. Orton, frustrated, hit's an RKO on Nick Aldis, then Adam, and then the other 4 people out with them to a massive pop! Orton sets Cena up and looks for a Punt Kick. R-Truth hits the ring to make the save for his childhood hero! Orton hits an RKO on Truth! John Cena hits a low blow on Orton to massive boos, then uses the title to smash the back of Orton's skull at 9:42pm. Cena covers and ref Chad Patton recovers just in time to make the cover count at 9:43pm. We get replays for days.
Your Winner AND STILL Undisputed WWE Champion, John Cena!
John Cena Speaks
"I know you can't see me but can you hear me? Cut my damn music! I don't need music. What I need is competition. And I sure as hell don't need you (the fans). Drink it in, St. Louis, because this is what the Last Real Champion looks like." Our end credits roll as the crowd loudly boos the champ, posing in the corner. At the start of the post-show--what we would call an overrun, where the champ's still playing up to the crowd and making his exit--the crowd is clearly loudly heard chanting "Thank you, Cena" as the champ finally leaves. He poses at the top of the ramp one last time in St. Louis before heading to the back.
