It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for another edition of WWE’s The Bump! Today’s episode is full of top notch guests, including new United States Champion Damian Priest, one-half of the new Raw Tag Team Champion’s Riddle, and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, let’s take a look at The Bump!
WWE’s The Bump
⁃ Kayla starts off the show, and tells the viewers “we have a really exciting show on tap for you today.”
⁃ The rest of The Bump crew share a few general thoughts on all of the latest action from WWE television, until Kayla brings on the first guest.
Roman Reigns
“The Tribal Chief” and “Head of the Table” joins The Bump crew, and Kayla begins by asking the WWE Universal Champion how he’s feeling after SummerSlam. Roman tells Kayla “I feel as I should. It was no surprise to me. I took action on the words I put out there, and did what I do. I keep my family on a pedestal above everyone else.” Matt follows up by acknowledging Reigns, and asks Roman if his huge victory over John Cena felt like “the most important” Universal Championship defense yet. Reigns explains “I’d be lying if I said it isn’t a big one, but for me the next win is always the biggest win. Obviously you already know who stepped up, or at least made it appear that way.” Evan comes behind that by asking Roman if he’s had time to process the return of Brock Lesnar, and Roman says “I think he wanted to get the best look possible at what’s going on here. He's like Cena, just coming with a farmer, butcher outlook. It just goes to show everyone who the number one guy is. They want to put themselves in the conversation with me, but no one can compete with what me and my cousins are doing. We are raising the bar and lifting the standard, and Brock, as well as everyone else wants to be a part of it.” Kayla chimes in, and she wonders if Paul Heyman gave Roman any “explanation” for what went down. Roman laughs, and tells Kayla “this would be your question... trying to drive a wedge between me and Paul. Even if he did, I can’t disclose that information.” Matt turns his attention to The Uso’s, and he wants to know if the Smackdown Tag Team Champions have reached their full potential from Roman’s perspective. Roman explains “no not yet. We are trying to do great stuff here. Until we retire on private islands, we won’t know. We are never satisfied. I’m constantly moving the goal post back. If they are satisfied, you saw what I did to Jey. The Bloodline mindset is about being number one, and we have to prove it every week.” Kayla thanks Roman for stopping by, and The Bump moves on to the next segment.
⁃ The Bump crew reflect on the NXT UK Championship changing hands at NXT TakeOver 36, until Kayla welcomes the next guest into the studio.
Riddle
The newly crowned Raw Tag Team Champion joins Kayla and Co., and he’s riding a scooter, because of course he is. Kayla kicks off the interview by asking Riddle how he’s feeling after defeating AJ Styles and Omos at Summerslam. Riddle explains “The championship titles are great, but the biggest win is friendship. We not only won the championships, but we celebrated our friendship.” Kayla follows up by asking Riddle how many times he and Randy have hugged since SummerSlam, and Riddle says “you know, he did like an odd camera hug on Monday, and he plays it like we don’t hug... but bro, we usually hug. Like a quick side hug.” Evan comes behind that by asking Riddle about the crowd reaction he received on Saturday, and Riddle reflects on his entrance, telling viewers “bro, 51,000 bro’s and bro-ettes going crazy for two stallions. It was a magical moment that will be solidified in the history books.” Matt takes Riddle back to Monday Night Raw, where Riddle gifted his partner with a new scooter. Riddle hypes the scooter, and explains “I painted it, I drew hearts on it. I spelled his name properly on it. I really put alot of effort in it with the tassels and all that... Randy isn’t an easy person to get gifts for, it has to be really special for him. He did break it on Omos, but it’s no problem.” Ryan cuts in with a fan question, and a Twitter user wants to know why Riddle doesn’t wear boots. Riddle tells the fan “I’ll tell ya why. Boots are expensive. At the beginning I didn’t have the money to be splurging like that. But mainly I wanted to do something different, and I was like I’m tough and good enough not to wear pants and pads.” Kayla thanks Riddle for stopping by, and it’s time for the next segment.
⁃ After a quick clip of Riddle earring hot wings with Drew McIntyre, Kayla brings on the final guest of the day.
Damian Priest
Kayla starts off the interview by asking Damian about his first ever main roster Championship victory at SummerSlam, and Priest reflects on the moment. Damian says “I’m on cloud nine. This is the dream, and I’m loving life right now.” Evan chimes in, and he asks Damian how hard it was defeat a talent like Sheamus. Preist tells Evan “Sheamus is gonna be a Hall of Famer, he’s a stud. And this is the best version of him there has been. It’s cool to be in the ring with a guy like him, and it’s cool to beat him.” Matt takes Damian back to last Monday, where Priest came face to face with Bobby Lashley. Damian explains why, stating “we are all on this history ladder, and I have to keep climbing. Lashley got put in his place, and it felt good.” Kayla and The Bump crew play a game called “Luck of the Draw,” until Priest makes his exit from the show.
⁃ Ryan, Matt, and Evan hype tomorrow’s episode of NXT UK, until Kayla sends the show off air.
That’s all for this episode of The Bump! Thanks for stopping by the recap, and have a great rest of your day everyone.
