It’s Wednesday again, and that means it’s time for another episode of WWE’s YouTube show, The Bump! Today’s edition of The Bump is full of top notch guests, including Ric Flair, Rhea Ripley, and Edge. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, let’s take a look at The Bump!
WWE The Bump
⁃ Kayla kicks off The Bump by making her way into the studio for the first time in months, and she tells viewers “we’re gonna have a good time.”
⁃ The rest of The Bump crew share general thoughts about the latest episodes of Smackdown, Raw, and NXT, until Kayla brings on the first guest.
Edge
Edge joins the show, and he has on a robe, as well as a coffee cup in hand, which reads “tears of my enemies.” Edge makes fun of Seth Rollins recent appearance on The Bump, and says Rollins looked more like “The Big Lebowski.” Kayla changes gears, and asks Edge how he’s feeling. Edge is having technical difficulties at first, but he explains “I am so pleased and happy, I feel like a little kid, I really do. I’ve learned to appreciate little things over the years. Having all of this back is a gift, and it’s something that doesn’t happen. I’m trying to savor every moment. It’s like a dream, it really is.” Matt brings up the last episode of Smackdown, and asks Edge about recruiting The Mysterio’s for help. Edge tells him “we all go way back, I mean Ive known Dom since he was a little peanut you know? So to share the ring with Rey again, I mean dudes a living legend. When he retires, everyone will go ‘oh wow, he was special.’ And to see Dom have his first match in front of an audience, I mean, that’s gonna be cool.” Ryan wonders how the finish of the triple threat match at Wrestlemania will affect the contest on Sunday, and Edge tells viewers “I’ve been doing this for 30 years... if there is one thing about the character of Edge, it’s a tennis ball, it’s bulletproof. Whenever you see Edge, hopefully it’s compelling television.” Matt reminds Edge that he has had his own underhanded tactics to keep titles in the past, and wonders if Edge has a respect for Roman Reigns, who is pretty much doing the same thing. Edge responds, and says “I think you have to be that way, it’s always been my mindset. If anyone can understand it, it’s me. I’ve done horrible things, so I can appreciate it, but I can also take it one step further. Just ask The Undertaker’s and John Cena’s of the world.” The Bump crew follows up by showing Edge comments Seth Rollins had for “The Rated-R Superstar,” and Edge responds. Edge says “I think he needs his baby bottle, that is some real whining right there. I don’t go on talk shows to whine, I do something about it.” Kayla thanks Edge for joining the show, and adds “I can’t wait to see you return to The Bump with the Universal Championship on hand.”
⁃ Up next, it’s time for a quick Ask The Bump segment.
⁃ When Ryan returns from the big board, it’s time for another guest.
Rhea Ripley
The reigning Raw Women’s Champion makes her presence felt on the show, and Kayla begins by asking Rhea how she’s doing. Rhea tells viewers “all that’s going through my mind is the match on Sunday. Charlotte has proved to me that she wants war, and that’s what I’m going to bring her.” Matt brings up last Monday’s Raw, where Charlotte “ambushed” Rhea. The Raw Women’s Champion says “I know she wants me to be less than 100%. My knee is still banged up, but I’m going to take her to the limit. She is trying to find a chink in my armor, and that’s not gonna happen.” Ryan chimes in, and points out that there will finally be a live audience for a Charlotte versus Rhea matchup. Rhea tells viewers “I feel like that will give me an extra bit of adrenaline. It’s going to be a full blown fight, and it’s going to be different from the others we’ve had. This is going to be intense.” Evan recalls the moment when Rhea used a crutch to attack Charlotte, and Rhea laughs as she watch’s the clip, before stating “I wanted to expose her for being a drama Queen. I’m just tired of it, and I wanted her to see how she looks.” Ryan asks another question, and he wonders if a win will put Charlotte in her Rhea’s rear view mirror. Ripley tell Ryan “yeah I do. I just want everyone to see that she is beatable, and then I want to go on to other things.” Matt brings up the Money in the Bank briefcase, and the potential of a cash-in. Rhea responds, and tells Matt “it adds a target to my back. I haven’t thought about it to much, but I should. Whoever wins could cash-in whenever they want. I’ll have to have eyes in the back of my head. Anyone who wants to step up to the plate, come at me.” Ryan asks Ripley a question from a fan on Twitter, who wants to know about Rhea’s favorite moment of her own career. Rhea laughs, and explains “beating Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship. That’s my favorite!”. Kayla thanks Rhea for stopping by, and invites her to listen to the next guest.
Ric Flair
“The Nature Boy” styles and profiles his way onto the show, and let’s out a big “WOO!” Ric says “I can’t wait to get to Ft. Worth, Texas,” and Kayla agrees, before showing Flair one of his own CarShield.Com commercials. Flair responds, telling Kayla “all I can say about that is I wish I had a tan... they said they would give me a spray!” Flair and The Bump crew make more CarShield plugs, until Evan changes gears to talk about wrestling. Evan wonders who Ric would like to cash-in on, and Ric explains “that’s a good question. We didn’t have the opportunity in the prime of my career. I think it’s exciting, and great, and we’ve had big surprises over the years. I know Sunday is going to go the same way.” Kayla brings up another match that will happen on Sunday, and asks Ric about the Raw Women’s Championship match. Flair tells Kayla “ I know Rhea is listening! Rhea, like so many people who faced the Flair’s, you’re going to feel the rush of the people, and I love you... but you’re just to nice. Rhea is a nice woman, but she doesn’t know how to bad. She is going to learn.” Ric goes on to say “for Rhea to beat Asuka recently was a huge victory for her. I’m sure it helped her with her self-confidence. I’m so excited for Rhea and Charlotte. The women’s division steals the show a lot more than people will give them credit for.” The Bump Crew thanks Flair for stopping by, and the final interview segment of the day comes to a close.
⁃ The hosts close the show by sharing a few final thoughts on NXT, and plug tomorrow’s NXT UK, as the show fades to black.
That’s all for this episode of The Bump! Thanks for stopping by the recap, and have a great rest of your day everyone.
