WWE The Bump Full Recap(8/11)

It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for another edition of WWE’s The Bump! Today’s episode is full of top notch guests, including Raquel Gonzalez, Odyssey Jones, and AJ Styles along with Omos. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, let’s take a look at The Bump!

WWE’s The Bump

⁃ Kayla starts off the show, and tells the viewers “we have a really exciting show on tap for you today.”
⁃ The rest of The Bump crew share a few general thoughts on all of the latest action from WWE television, until Kayla brings on the first guest.

Omos & AJ Styles

Kayla begins by asking AJ about Monday Night Raw, and the moment when Randy Orton nailed Riddle with an RKO. AJ reflects on the moment, and tells Kayla “I think I speak for Omos and myself when I say we don’t really care. It’s none of our business. We should have talked to Randy earlier! He woulda hit an RKO on Riddle, and broke his heart.” Matt turns his attention to Omos, and asks the big man about his recent success against Riddle. Omos says “it’s light work man. I have more to go.” AJ throws his two cents in, and tells The Bump crew “listen my tag team partner is a humble man, and you guys are forcing him to brag. Don’t eat the people in the studio. I know you’re hungry, you’re always hungry.” Ryan chimes in, and he points out that the WWE Universe has been giving Team R-K-Bro more attention than the Raw Tag Team Champions, even though Randy and Riddle aren’t really a team. AJ responds to those comments, and tells listeners “yeah I think it’s dumb. There is no R-K-Bro... they aren’t a tag team. I don’t try to phenomenal forearm Omos! Randy RKO’d his partner! Does that sound like a tag team to you?” Matt takes AJ back to Wrestlemania, and asks Omos how much he believes he has improved from then until now. Omos explains “having AJ by my side has been the greatest thing to happen to my career so far.” AJ adds “we are a well oiled machine. We know what each other is thinking. It was rocky at first, but we figured it out. Now we beat people to pulps.” Kayla rejoins the conversation, and she wonders how the Raw Tag Team Champions have gelled so well, in a short amount of time. AJ goes first, and tells Kayla “I think we are realizing our abilities. And how we can use them together to be the best team in history. I think it’s working so far.” Omos adds “he’s just a great leader man. He’s got us.” Kayla thanks AJ and Omos for stopping by The Bump, and the show rolls on to the next guest.

Odyssey Jones

Kayla kicks off the interview by congratulating Odyssey on his win during last night’s NXT, and asks the big man how it felt to score the victory. Odyssey tells Kayla “It felt amazing! I defeated a great talent, he had me going. But I pulled it out and I’m happy to go to the finals and show what I can do.” Matt chimes in, and he wonders if Odyssey has had a moment to soak in the last few months of his own career. Jones replies “uh, nah. They’ve kept me busy, but it’s cool I would rather be rocking and rolling and just keep moving.” Evan asks a question, and wants Odyssey to take the viewers back to his experience in Jones’ first NXT Breakout Tournament match. Odyssey reflects on the match, and tells Evan “excitement through and through. It was my first time seeing them, and them seeing me. It was super exciting. I gave it my all, and it happened to be enough that day.” Ryan jumps into the mix, and he asks Odyssey about the tremendous amount of support he’s been receiving from the WWE Universe. Odyssey tells Ryan “it feels great. You try to be the best you can be, and sometimes the world likes us, and I’m happy they do. I’m gonna keep working my hardest, and I hope the WWE Universe keeps loving me.” Kayla thanks Odyssey for his time, and The Crew turns their attention to the final guest of the day.

Raquel Gonzalez

The NXT Women’s Champion joins the show, and highlights from her segment on NXT are shown. Kayla asks Raquel if she feels like she made her message to Dakota clear, and Gonzalez replies “yeah I don’t think I have to say much. I feel like I made my statement. I don’t think I need to put into words what my actions will speak for at TakeOver.” Matt asks if Raquel ever worried that the title may come between her friendship with Dakota Kai, and Gonzalez tells him “knowing her past, and how prestigious the title is, I had a feeling. But I didn’t think she would come at me like that. We were true teammates. I thought we could take this relationship as far as possible. But it is what it is.” Ryan hops into the conversation, and he asks Raquel if Dakota seems like a “totally different person now.” Raquel responds, telling viewers “no this is the Dakota I have always known. I want to retain my title, and she bit off more than she can chew. She thinks she knows me, but she has no idea what I can do.” Matt asks Raquel about her biggest concern heading into the match against Dakota, and Raquel explains “I think my biggest concern would be making sure I watch my own back. We are going in one on one, and I just have to watch my back.” Kayla thanks Raquel for her appearance, and the final interview of the day comes to a close.

⁃ Ryan, Matt, and Evan hype tomorrow’s episode of NXT UK, until Kayla sends the show off air.

That’s all for this episode of The Bump! Thanks for stopping by the recap, and have a great rest of your day everyone.
