WWE The Bump Recap (10/20): Sasha Banks, Finn Balor, More

It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for another edition of WWE’s The Bump! Today’s episode is full of top notch guests, including Finn Balor, Doudrop, and Sasha Banks. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, let’s take a look at The Bump!

WWE’s The Bump

⁃ Kayla starts off the show, and tells the viewers “we have a really exciting show on tap for you today.”
⁃ The rest of The Bump crew share a few general thoughts on all of the latest action in WWE, until Kayla brings on the first pair of guest’s.

Sasha Banks

Ahead of her triple threat battle over the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship, “The Boss” Sasha Banks joins The Bump crew, and she’s ready to go in Saudi Arabia. Kayla kicks off the chat by asking Sasha where her head is at right now, and Banks explains “I’m feeling a little jet lag. I feel incredible at the same time, and I plan on becoming a two-time Smackdown Women’s Champion.” Matt enters the chat, and he asks Sasha how important it is for her to win tomorrow, since she is the only match participant staying on Smackdown. Sasha tells viewers “I have to bring it home, and do it for my division. Becky and Bianca are Raw talent now, so I plan on taking the title home where it belongs.” Ryan hops in with a few comments, and looks forward to more battles between Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair. Banks goes on to say “right now for me it’s revenge season. I already beat Becky and Bianca, and when Charlotte comes to Smackdown it will be so exciting! We have such a history.” Kayla rejoins the conversation, and she asks if Becky Lynch took of advantage of Sasha, during Lynch’s return at Summerslam. “The Boss” explains “no I think Becky is on top of her game. She beat Bianca in 26 seconds, but The Boss is back, and I plan on being Smackdown Women’s Champion.” Matt chimes in with a quick statement, and he wonders if Sasha has more of a story to tell with Bianca Belair. Sasha states “I mean I already beat her like two weeks ago, so no! I don’t need to worry about Bianca or Becky anymore.” Ryan comes behind that with a Twitter question, and a fan wants to know who Sasha Banks, along with Eddie Guerrero, would face in a mixed tag team match. Banks thins about it for a moment, before telling Ryan “oh, I would choose Rey Mysterio and Naomi.” Kayla thanks Sasha for her time, and we’re on to the next segment.

⁃ The Bump crew reflect on last night’s NXT, until Kayla welcomes on the next guest.

Doudrop

After advancing to the finals of the first ever Queen’s Crown Tournament, Doudrop joins The Bump crew, and she’s ready to square off with Zelina Vega. Kayla begins the interview by asking Doudrop how she’s feeling about tomorrow’s match, and Doudrop explains “I’m kind of all over the place. This is the biggest match of my career so far, so I’m excited, and I’m anticipating it. I’m nervous. But yeah, it’s all great!” Matt joins the conversation, and he reflects on Doudrop’s second round match against Shayna Baszler. Once a quick piece of footage from Raw airs, Doudrop says “I definitely have been in better shape after a match. Shayna is the most legit opponent I’ve ever faced, but I’m gonna give it all I got tomorrow. As you can see, I’m already dressed like royalty.” Ryan has a question of his own, and he wonders if Doudrop felt like “the underdog” throughout the tournament. Doudrop tells Ryan “I don’t look at it that way. Some people may think I’m not fierce or strong, but just because I have a big smile on my face, that doesn’t mean I’m any less ferocious.” Kayla hops back into the chat, and runs down Zelina Vega’s road through the tournament. Doudrop responds, and says “I think when people look at us, they think we couldn’t be further apart. We have something in common, and we know that looks can be deceiving. I’m going to have to watch out for her.” Matt continues his trip down memory lane, and takes Doudrop back to Raw Talk, where Vega stated that Doudrop can be “the first to kiss the ring,” after Zelina wins the crown. Doudrop goes on to say “ohhh, oh my goodness. It’s personal now. We will just have to see about that!” Ryan brings up a tweet from Zelina, who listed a few of her plans as Queen. Ryan wonders what Doudrop intends to do as Queen, and she tells viewers “I think it would be very colorful and bubbly. I would be a Queen of the people!” Kayla thanks Doudrop for the interview, and the show moves on to the final discussion of the day.

Finn Balor

Before he goes to war with Xavier Woods, “The Prince” shares a few thoughts on the King of the Ring Finals. Kayla fires away with questions, and asks Finn how he’s feeling ahead of Thursday’s match. Finn tells the crew “Im physically 100%. I’ve faced proven competitors, and I’m hoping to become King of the Ring.” Matt follows up by asking Finn about his opponent tomorrow, and Balor tells Matt “I don’t care who the opponent is. Obviously Woods does alot of talking outside the ring, and he feels he has something to prove to everyone, but I will be standing in his way.” Kayla brings up a comment Woods made on Raw, where Xavier told Balor that he will “stay a prince while I become a king.” Balor responds to the statement, and goes on to say “no comments strike a nerve with me. You can say whatever you want to me, I’ve heard it all before. Whatever he wants to say about prince’s and king’s, that’s fine with me. I’ll do my talking in the ring.” Matt has yet another question, and asks Finn if Woods being the favorite in the match bothers him any. Finn explains “no it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s the King of the Ring, it’s been one of the turning points of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s career. That’s what I plan to let it be for me, ahead of my time on the red brand.” Ryan has the final question of the day, and he takes Finn all the way back to 2015. In a video clip, Xavier Woods wonders who would win a match between himself and Balor. Back in the studio, Ryan asks if the first time ever match “ads a little juice” to the scrap, and Finn tells him “I actually wrestled him in a dark match once, and I beat him in about three minutes... I thought the match was a rib, so I throw on my gear, went to gorilla, and Woods was there. Who won? In three minutes! Finn Balor.” Kayla thanks Finn for his time, and the interviews are officially over.

⁃ Ryan, Matt, and Kayla hype tomorrow’s episode of NXT UK, until Kayla sends the show off air.
