WWE The Bump Recap (11/3): Tony D'Angelo, Paul Heyman, More

It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for another edition of WWE’s The Bump! Today’s episode is full of top notch guests, including Jeff Hardy, Tony D’Angelo, and Paul Heyman . Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, let’s take a look at The Bump!

WWE’s The Bump

⁃ Kayla starts off the show, and tells the viewers “we have a really exciting show on tap for you today.”
⁃ The rest of The Bump crew share a few general thoughts on all of the latest action in WWE, until Kayla brings on the first guest.

Jeff Hardy

“The Charismatic Enigma” joins The Bump crew, and Kayla asks Hardy how he’s feeling. Jeff says “I’m great, it’s great to back on The Bump, I’m fired up! Let’s go.” Kayla turns her attention to the Universal Championship, and asks Jeff if he has sights set on the big blue strap, after being drafted to Smackdown. Hardy explains “I’ve been very public about wanting a match with Roman Reigns. He’s so powerful, and so fun to watch.” Matt follows up by pointing out the fact that Hardy and Reigns yet to meet in the ring, and he wonders if that makes Jeff want the match even more. Hardy tells The Bump viewers... nothing, because he lost his zoom connection.

⁃ The Bump crew scramble to waste time, and reflect on last night’s NXT, until Kayla welcomes the next guest into the studio.

Paul Heyman

The Special Counsel to The Tribal Chief and Head of The Table joins The Bump via Zoom, and claps for himself. Paul and Kayla argue for a brief moment, until Matt put’s up a clip of Kayla dressed as Heyman, which is bizarre. Paul responds to the clip of Kayla mocking him, and says “my thoughts are that WWE programming should look at the fact that I have a Stan in WWE, a poor mans Kelly Ripa! So if Kayla “Stan” Braxton wants to come forward with her lust for me, more power to her. She did better dressed as me than she does dressed as herself!” Ryan asks Heyman to rank Kayla’s costume among all of the costumes worn throughout WWE history, and Paul tells Ryan “you guys are so obsessed with this! Kayla is a wonderful journalist, if she jumped to ESPN, Disney stock would go way up! She nags me all the time, and then dresses up like me! How much do you guys want to push me to say something good about Kayla?!” Kayla changes gears, and asks Paul if he’s concerned Brock Lesnar’s $1,000,000 fine will be taken from Heyman’s paycheck. Paul smirks, and explains “I am not paid by Brock Lesnar. Nice try. I am not concerned Brock can pay it, I’m concerned with who’s ass on Smackdown he pulls the million dollars from. What did everyone expect would happen when you have Brock Lesnar on Smackdown? He’s a beast, that’s the box office attraction about him... I have no business worrying about Brock, but Adam Pearce... I mean c’mon.” Kayla asks if Paul is having trouble choosing between Lesnar and Reigns, and Heyman goes on to say “I will lead the way, and show that you don’t have to hate the person on the other side of the aisle. I have no personal beef with Brock Lesnar. I have beef with everyone thinking I have interest with what Brock Lesnar is doing. I am the Special Counsel to the reigning, defending, Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns.” Kayla thanks Paul for his time, and moves on to the next guest.

Tony D’Angelo

For the first time in his WWE career, Tony D’Angelo is here to chat with Kayla, Matt, and Ryan. Tony joins the show via Zoom, and Kayla asks how D’Angelo is feeling, so Tony says “the family is good, I’m in good health, so I can’t complain.” Matt follows up by asking Tony about his current run on NXT 2.0, and D’Angelo explains “you know, all I can say is that I’m making the family proud. I’m doing exactly what I came here to do.” Ryan joins the chat, and he asks D’Angelo about emoji’s. Tony talks about the pinched fingers emoji, stating “as you just saw, everyone recognizes doing this because of me. I’m taking ownership of the pinched fingers.” Kayla takes Tony back to last week’s show, where Matt Camp dressed as D’Angelo. Tony responds to the clip, and tells The Bump viewers “I am very surprised he’s not wearing it today. Just so you know, it’s not a costume, this is me, I wear this every day. It’s comfortable right?” Matt follows up by asking Tony if his in-ring attire is about comfort or style, and D’Angelo explains “I think it’s both. I want to look good, feel good, and then wrestle good. That’s the formula you know?” Ryan chimes in with a Twitter message from a fan, who says D’Angelo will be a star someday. Ryan says Tony has the support of the WWE Universe, and D’Angelo states “I appreciate everyone recognizing what I’m doing, but honestly, I’m not surprised. I’ve always been this confident, and I knew it was only a matter of time before everyone noticed. They just had to put me on the screen.” Kayla thanks Tony for the interview, and the show moves on to the final segment of the day.

⁃ Ryan, Matt, and Kayla hype tomorrow’s episode of NXT UK, until Kayla sends the show off air.

That’s all for this episode of The Bump! Thanks for stopping by the recap, and have a great rest of your day everyone.
