WWE The Bump
-Kayla, Matt, and Ryan welcome the viewers onboard, and Kayla gives a rundown of today’s lineup.
-The Bump crew share their thoughts on the latest happenings from all of WWE’s brands, until the first guest arrives.
Sheamus
2012 Royal Rumble winner Sheamus joins The Bump crew, who each have a few questions for The Celtic Warrior. Kayla begins by asking Sheamus how he’s feeling this morning, and Sheamus says “never been better. Just putting ping pong balls in their place, like Ricochet and Cesaro... waiting on my boy Ridgey to return.” Kayla follows up by asking Sheamus about last Friday’s victory over Ricochet, and she wonders if the win quenched Sheamus’ thirst to dish out payback. The former WWE Champion tells viewers “I actually beat both of them at Day 1, but this Ricochet guy can’t get enough of a beating from Sheamy.” Matt enters the chat, and he wonders how Sheamus feels about winning an “unplanned handicapped match” at Day 1. Sheamus explains “I’m always proud as punch about everything I do.” Sheamus goes on to say “It actually goes back to what I saw earlier. Seth Rollins coming over to face Roman? Everyone is too afraid to face me... Roman is running scared.” Ryan joins the fun, and shares a few Twitter comments from the WWE Universe. Ryan asks Sheamus a question from a fan, who wants to know how The Celtic Warrior feels about mentoring Ridge Holland. Sheamus wastes no time in answering, and tells viewers “I see alot of promise in Ridge. He wants to learn, these days everyone knows it all, but he wants to learn. I’m a multi-time Champion, and I’m one title away from becoming the first ever Ultimate Grand Slam Champion.” Ryan turns the conversation back to Ridge Holland, and wonders if Sheamus is keeping any information away from his protege. Sheamus responds, stating “you don’t want to give it all at once. You’ll spoil the fella. I just give him little bits to help him go along. I’m a giving fella, probably to giving. But Ridge understands the journey.” Kayla thanks The Celtic Warrior for stopping by, and it’s time for the next segment.
-Matt and Ryan preview the upcoming episode of Smackdown, until Kayla welcomes on the next guest.
Shawn Michaels
Two-Time Royal Rumble winner Shawn Michaels joins the show via Zoom, and its time for another interview! Kayla fires away with questions, and brings up the fact that Heartbreak Kid competed on every Royal Rumble card between 1989 and 1998. Kayla follows up by asking Shawn if he ever thought the event would become what it has, and Michaels explains “no! The first time you hear about it, you know, it’s a battle royal. But it has so many implications now towards WrestleMania.” Shawn continues “So no I didn’t know it would be such a landmark. I mean it’s an unbelievable concept, and it has 30 years of longevity. I mean that’s tough to do!” Matt jumps in with a question of his own, and he wonders if Shawn has ever realized how important the Royal Rumble was for his career. H-B-Shizzle says “yeah! For sure. I can say this, I watched Curt Henning in the Royal Rumble, he never won, but I realized that 'wow even in an event with 30 people, you can become the focal point'. The Royal Rumble can be a performance engineered match. So after watching him that night, it wasn’t about winning it, it was about everything you did in the duration of time you were out there.” Matt takes Shawn all the way back to the 1997 Royal Rumble event, where Michaels defeated Sid in the main event, and captured his second WWE Championship.” Matt asks Shawn to shares a few memories from that night, so Michaels says “the only thing I remember the most about that night is having the flu. I was so sick, worst I’ve felt before any show, and of course it happened in my hometown.' The first ever Grand Slam Champion in WWE continued “The thing is, everyone wants to have a great show in their hometown, sounds very cliche, but to have a big event, and win the Championship back... it’s one of those things that you carry with you for a long time. I have a much bigger appreciation of those moments now than I did when I was actually going through them.” Shawn makes his exit from the show, and the final interview of the day is in the books.
-Ryan and Matt hype tomorrow’s edition of NXT UK, and The Bump fades to black.
That’s all for this week’s episode of The Bump! Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your day!
