WWE The Bump (7/27)

-Kayla, Matt, and Ryan welcome the viewers onboard, until Kayla gives a rundown of today’s lineup.
-The Bump crew share their thoughts on the latest episodes of Smackdown and Monday Night Raw, until the first guest checks in.

Dolph Ziggler

Coming off of the heels of Monday’s Raw, Dolph Ziggler has a few comments for the WWE Universe. A video recaps Ziggler’s night on Raw, where Dolph and AJ Styles defeated the Alpha Academy in a tradition tag team match. Kayla wonders how Dolph initially felt about teaming with AJ for the first time, and Ziggler explains “I’ve been in the ring with him a few different times!” Dolph continues “We’ve gone over this before, and there’s only a few people that I trust, Bob Roode being one of them, and one of his personal recommendations is to watch AJ’s back.” Kayla follows up by asking Dolph about his repeated interactions with Theory, and Ziggler tells Kayla “I had time off for the second time in 18 years, but sometimes you have to take time off for a bit.” Dolph goes on to say “Theory, similar to a young me, is standing out as one of the hardest workers. He has every tool you can imagine, and when you don’t earn it, that’s fine, this isn’t an office… This is a job where you fight for your job everyday, but when you get it the way he’s trying to, and that carpet gets pulled out from underneath you… maybe you could have been so much more.” Dolph closes by saying “clearly I give back all the time, to the business, and seeing that… he could be the face of the company for 20 more years, and I want that to succeed, no matter how he sees it or acts.” Kayla brings the segment to a close, and Ziggler hangs around for the next guest.

-Matt and Ryan preview the upcoming episode of Smackdown, until the final guest arrives.

Jeff Jarrett

Ahead of Saturday’s WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship clash between The Uso’s and Street Profits, WWE Hall Of Famer and soon to be Special Guest Referee Jeff Jarrett has a few words for The Bump crew. Kayla fires away with questions, and she wonders how Jarrett initially reacted to being selected as the referee of Saturday’s huge tag team match. Jeff explains “I was really honored, because Nashville has never had a premium live event at the Titans stadium.” Jeff goes on to say “for Nashville to be hosting SummerSlam is a huge deal, and you know, my first job in the wrestling industry was referee.” Matt follows up on the comment from Jarrett by asking Jeff to share more about his time as a referee, and Double J tells viewers “I was taught at an early age that the best referee is one you don’t notice. Now the Double J I know, that doesn’t fit his resume, but I’m going to call it right down the middle.” Ryan chimes in with the final question of the day, and he wants to know more about Jarrett’s decision to cut the sleeves off of his officiating gear. Jeff asks Ryan “do you think I’m going to wear a normal ref shirt? Has Double J ever worn anything ordinary?” Kayla thanks Jeff and Dolph for stopping by, and the final interview is in the books!

-Ryan and Matt hype tomorrow’s edition of NXT UK, until The Bump fades to black.

That’s all for this week’s episode of The Bump! Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your day!
