WWE The Bump (9/14)
-Kayla, Matt, and Ryan welcome the viewers onboard, until Kayla gives a rundown of today’s lineup.
-The Bump crew share their thoughts on the latest episodes of Smackdown and Monday Night Raw, until Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano interrupt.
Kevin Owens
Coming off of the heels of a heated exchange with Austin Theory, Kevin Owens has a few comments for the WWE Universe. Matt begins by asking Owens about the reality check that Kevin dished out to Theory on Raw, and Owens explains “I figured it would probably end this way. Even if he listened, you know, he’s an arrogant guy. But i don’t think he’s ever looked better with blood on his face. Austin is doing alright for himself, but he’s a child, he’s 17.” Owens goes on to say “I really meant what I said, I hope he can become the next guy. Because, look, I’m not going to be around forever. I love this place, we need people to take us into the future. But, ultimately, I see the way he’s been talking to Johnny, and I can’t help but to take that personally, we’re cut from the same cloth.” Matt shows Kevin a clip from Raw Talk, where Theory listed off his accomplishments, and shrugged off Owens words. Kevin responds to the clip, telling viewers “I still feel like I’m not trying to downplay anything that he’s accomplished. I even told him that, and I understand what he’s trying to prove.” Kevin goes on to ask “Theory says he does what he does and that’s all day, what does that even mean? He also says ‘and that’s A-Town down’. What does even mean? He once said that Canada is my hometown.” Owens closes by saying “the point I’m trying to make is, Theory says alot of stuff that doesn’t make sense, and we have a match on Monday, where I’ll beat some sense into him.” Matt brings the interview to a close, and the show rolls on to the next segment.
-Matt and Ryan preview the upcoming episode of Smackdown, until Kayla welcomes on the final guest.
Johnny Gargano
Monday Night Raw Superstar Johnny Gargano joins The Bump Crew, and the final interview of the day is underway! Matt fires away with questions, and he asks Johnny how he felt competing in his first singles match on Raw. Gargano explains “it felt amazing to be back and hear the crowd. I haven’t done any of my stuff in my nine months, and it worked out great.” Johnny goes on to say “Chad Gable is great, such an underrated talent, so awesome!” Matt turns his attention to the post match assault by Austin Theory, and he wonders how much Theory has changed since Johnny last saw him in NXT. Gargano says “he’s completely changed. I hadn’t heard from him since i left. He doesn’t reply in our group chat anymore.” Johnny continues “once i left, once things changed, he realized i couldn’t do anything for him anymore.” Ryan chimes in with a Twitter question, and a fan wants to know how Johnny handled the emotions of his return to WWE in Toronto. Gargano tells the fan “I was really hoping people remembered who I was. Nine months is a long time in wrestling… and to come out, and get that reaction, it was great.” Ryan follows up with a clip of Johnny’s son watching Gargano wrestle for the first time, and Johnny responds to the clip by stating “the fact that not only he’s watching, but he squealed when i hit the spear, so that’s cool. I don’t think the gravity of it all has hit me yet, that he saw me wrestle for the first time.” Johnny closes by saying “the coolest part, for me, is that he’s going to be able to experience it all now.” Matt thanks Johnny for his time, and the final interview is in the books!
That’s all for this week’s episode of The Bump! Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your day!
