-- With WWE's Elimination Chamber just days away, questions remain around how WWE is going to approach and move forward with the Roman Reigns - Sami Zayn storyline leading into WrestleMania and beyond. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plan was for Zayn to lose, Jey Uso to turn on him which would lead to a tag team match with Zayn and Kevin Owens teaming up to take on the Usos at WrestleMania for the tag team titles.
-- However, the report adds that "a lot has changed" since that initial plan as Zayn has become a major ratings mover on TV for Smackdown. While others have moved the Smackdown ratings needle for their appearances, Zayn is not only moving quarter hours, but he is elevating the entire show as Smackdown viewership is up whether Reigns is on it or not and Zayn is the reason for this.
-- The Observer adds that WWE could ignore what the audience wants (Zayn to win) and move forward with Cody Rhodes challenging Reigns at WrestleMania or they could make it a three-way with a controversial finish. No matter what happens, the report noted that this would be the first time new creative lead Paul "HHH" Levesque would be put in a position of having to consider changing plans so significant that his booking decision could alter WWE TV ratings for weeks or months to come.
