WWE Continues To Discount WrestleMania 42 Tickets Amid Soft Sales For This Year's Event

One of the more interesting stories headed into WWE's biggest event of the year - WrestleMania 42 - is the relative lack of success the company is having moving tickets for the two-night event.

Over the past few weeks, the company has been putting tickets on discount and according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE rolled out yet another sale, this time with 25% off for both night one and night two in an effort to ensure Allegiant Stadium is "packed" for the show. The discount also extends to Raw and Smackdown that week as well as the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.

Currently WrestleMania 42 Night One has just shy of 40,000 tickets sold while Night Two is at about 41,300, approximately 13% behind last year in the same city and stadium. WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown at the T-Mobile Arena are at 7,305 tickets and 5,810 tickets, respectively - the latter of which no doubt is a disappointment. The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, held in a much smaller venue, is at 2,183 tickets sold.

Meltzer estimated that tickets for each night of WrestleMania is still likely to exceed 50,000 by the time the event takes place and the expectation is that WWE will announce an audience similar, if not slightly bigger, than last year's WrestleMania 41.
