As previously reported, Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast noted that the WWE is planning to resume to hold live events with fans in attendance starting July 16th all the way to July 19th, but with the WWE Extreme Rules PPV set to take place on July 18th, there were rumors and speculations that we will see live fans at the PPV as well, although despite it not being officially announced yet, WWE Extreme Rules PPV is set to take place from the WWE ThunderDome at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
An update was recently provided by the Mat Men Podcast that the weekend the WWE is planning to return to live events with fans in attendance may be bigger than first reported as fans are set to return on the July 16th, July 18th and July 19th dates, which would be SmackDown, Extreme Rules and RAW.
There were reports in the past that indicated that the company had talks about possibly holding a set of weekend live events as a test for when they decide to return to touring and if this is what is set to happen, then the July 16th – July 19th weekend live tour could fit that description.
Aside from last month's WrestleMania 37, the last time the WWE main roster held a live show with fans in attendance was the March 9, 2020 episode of WWE RAW from the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C., while the last time the WWE main roster held a PPV with fans was the Elimination Chamber PPV Event on March 8th, 2020 from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. WWE officials have said on numerous occasions that the promotion will be making a full return to touring some time in the second half of this year.
