Last December 6th, WWE filed to trademark the "Odyssey Jones" in-ring name with the USPTO (the United States Patent and Trademark Office) under the category of entertainment services. Before signing with the WWE in 2019, Odyssey Jones played college football for Syracuse University as an offensive guard. Jones wrestled his first match on the November 7, 2019 house show in Ocala, Florida, losing to Dexter Lumis in Singles action under his real name.
Odyssey then wrestled his first televised match on the July 6th episode of WWE 205 Live, when he beat Grayson Waller in Singles action. Jones then competed in the WWE NXT Breakout Tournament making it to the finals, but coming up short against current NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes. Jones last competed for the WWE on the November 16th NXT 2.0 episode, when he teamed up with Jacket Time (Ikemen Jiro and Kushida) to beat Diamond Mine’s Creed Brothers and Roderick Strong in 6-Man Tag Team action.
