WWE Files To Trademark Ring Name Of NXT Newcomer Asher Hale

Last April 30th, WWE filed to trademark the in-ring name of NXT newcomer "Asher Hale" with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) under the entertainment services category. Asher Hale used to work in EVOLVE Wrestling as Anthony Henry. When EVOLVE Wrestling was bought by WWE this past year, Hale was one of the wrestlers signed by the company. Hale made his WWE NXT in-ring debut on this past Wednesday night’s show, losing to Cameron Grimes.

Below is the use description WWE submitted to the USPTO:

“IC 040. US 100 103 106. G & S: Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”

As previously reported, Asher Hale is a former EVOLVE Tag Team Champion as well as a former FIP World Heavyweight Champion. Back in January of this year, he was announced as a member of WWE's Performance Center Class after being rumored to sign with the company for months.

Following his WWE NXT in-ring debut, Asher took to his Twitter and posted a couple of photos from his first official WWE photo shoot, with the caption, “New begginings! Asher Hale has arrived @WWENXT”
