This past May 4th, WWE filed to trademark the ring names of “Ikemen Jiro” and “Ari Sterling” with the USPTO (the United States Patent and Trademark Office) under the entertainment services category.
Both new WWE Superstars won their respective matches when they made their debuts during last Friday's episode of 205 Live. Ari Sterling defeated Samir Singh via pinfall in Singles action, and Ikemen Jiro won the match for his team when he pinned Tony Nese.
Ikemen Jiro and Ari Sterling were previously announced as members of the WWE Performance Center Class last December 2020, which is the exact same group that featured NXT Tag Team Champions MSK as well as NXT Superstar Tyler Rust.
Prior to signing with WWE, Ikemen Jiro was known as Sojiru “Ikemen” Higuchi. He was trained by former WWE Star Tajiri and has competed for promotions such as AJPW and Wrestle-1 in Japan. Ari Sterling, on the other hand, (Alex Brandenburg) was known as Alex Zayne on the independent scene. He’s been on the indie scene and has been wrestling for 15 years and has worked for promotions like ROH, GCW and Black Label Pro.
