Tag Team Match: the Brawling Brutes vs the Bloodline
The Bloodline are represented tonight by Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa, whereas the Brawling Brutes are represented by Butch and Ridge Holland. Congratulations to Sheamus, who's off for the weekend for some nuptial fun. The Brutes are out first. Backstage, the Usos, Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa are hyping up for tonight. Sami asks to speak to Jey and Jey assumes Sami's asking him not to get involved again. Zayn states that no, he wants all hands on deck, because the Tribal Chief is here and all he needs to see is raised hands. Sami asks Jey to bring that energy tonight and the Bloodline make their entrance to huge boos and Sikoa's new theme music. We get our bell at 8:06. Butch starts off with Sami Zayn and takes him into the corner. Zayn maneuvers out of it and runs back and forth across the ring, rebounding from ropes to ropes while Butch dodges, ducks, dips, dives, and dodges. Finally a clothesline ends the sequence and Ridge Holland comes in off the tag, staying in just long enough for two strikes. Butch is brought in and the two double-team Sami Zayn with an in-ring version of the Ten Beats of the Bodhran. Solo Sikoa tags in and takes control of the match, battering Butch down to the mat. As the ref turns his back, Jimmy Uso strikes the prone Butch in the head. Solo tags in Sami Zayn, who focuses his strikes on Butch's forehead. Butch rallies, however, and sends Zayn over the top rope. Zayn checks his arm and Butch takes him out with a running apron attack. The Usos distract Butch, allowing Solo Sikoa to attack him from behind. Sikoa then body slams Butch across the apron edge, sending us to break at 8:09!
We return at 8:12pm and find Sikoa still in control of Butch. Sikoa pops up Butch and slams him down hard into the mat. Zayn encourages Solo to tag him in. Solo crawls towards Sami as Butch crawls towards Holland. Both men eventually make the tags, with Ridge coming in hot. Holland with a pair of shoulder tackles to Zayn, followed by repeated clotheslines in the corner. Zayn gets a foot up, attempting to stop Ridge, but Holland plants Zayn with what looks like a modified spinning side slam. Holland covers for two. Holland hoists Zayn up in a powerbomb position but Zayn fights out of it and makes the blind tag to Solo Sikoa. Sikoa with a blind kick to Holland! Samoan Drop from Sikoa for a close two. Zayn and Sikoa but seem flustered. Sikoa taunts Holland, yelling, "who the hell you think you are, huh? You know who we are, huh? You disrespectin' me?" He throws a fist but Holland traps the arm against his side; Sikoa throws his other fist and Holland traps it, too! Holland with a series of headbutts to Sikoa.
Holland drops Sikoa off the rebound and makes the hot tag to Butch. Zayn comes in hot, too, and uses a right followed by a boot to stun Butch. Zayn goes for the Blue Thunder Bomb but Butch blocks. Butch looks for Sheamus' cloverleaf but Zayn fights it. Zayn capitalizes off a distraction by the Bloodline to take control. Zayn with an Exploder Suplex into the corner, setting up a potential Helluva Kick! Zayn charges in but Butch has it scouted. The crowd with a loud pro-Sami Zayn chant! Butch climbs up and Jimmy Uso distracts him. Jey Uso pulls Sami out of the ring and the two have words, apparently not agreeing on the definition of "help" and what constitutes it. Solo Sikoa has to exit the ring to try to keep the peace between Jey and Sami. Ridge Holland comes in from out of nowhere, plowing through them! Zayn tries to escape into the ring but Butch awaits. Butch with the roll-up win at 8:18pm!
Your Winners, the Brawling Brutes!
Time for Acknowledgements
Jey and Sami continue to bicker, with hot-headed Jey seeming to be the main aggressor. Solo again separates them and it appears he's siding with Sami if they come to blows. And then we hear the familiar tones as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman make their way out! They start their entrance at 8:19pm. We head to break at 8:21pm with Roman & Heyman still on the entrance ramp. At 8:24pm we return from break and find the Bloodline assembled in its entirety. Roman takes an unannounced moment of silence. Or two. Or twenty. Finally he asks for a mic and Heyman hands it over. Loud Roman chants from the crowd. At 8:26pm, the Tribal Chief speaks. "Saint Louis...acknowledge me!" The crowd pops for this and puts up the Ones. Roman paces and states that they're going to switch things up a bit tonight. "You've acknowledged me, now it's time to acknowledge this elephant in the room. You two," he says to Jey and Sami, "you want to act like kids? Then we gon' treat you like kids. I don't believe airing the backstage in the ring, I believe in fighting in the ring and handling your business but it seems you two can't do (that." He then tells them to put it all out on the table as he wants this problem fixed "right now!"
Sami speaks, but not before the crowd gives him another hot Sami chant. "I'll be the first to admit there's been a bit of a communication breakdown as of late, and I feel that it's pretty specifically with Jey, right?" Sami states he doesn't understand what's going on, and that he's always liked Jey. They've always gotten along but since he began hanging with the Bloodline, it seems like Jey can't stand him. Sami points out everyone in the Bloodline welcomes him except Jey and he apologies for whatever he could've done to offend Jey--he just doesn't want this to keep going on. The crowd applauds that, haha. Sami continues. "Can we just be cool? Can we just bury the hatchet once and for all?" He extends a hand. Jey takes a few moments, and Sami encourages Jey to take his hand and shake it. Jey continues to resist, refusing to look at Sami. The crowd gets rowdy and he looks around, still refusing to shake. The crowd chants "hug it out." Jey gets on the mic, warning Sami "you've got about two seconds to get that (his arm) out of my face. I don't like you. I don't like your hair. I don't like your face. I don't like that shirt you're wearing. Hey-hey, I don't like him being around my family every single week! My dawg this, my dawg that..." He tells Sami that he's not blood, and never will be, and doesn't belong with them. He states no one in the Bloodline likes him but he's got the balls to say it. He tells Sami he's shed blood for this family, because they're his family and yells at Sami, wanting to know if he'll do it.
Zayn asks him what Jey's doing as the Tribal Chief said to make peace. "I don't give a damn what the Tribal Chief says," Jey exclaims. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The crowd and everyone in the ring go wide-eyed. Roman slowly turns his attention to Jey who realizes his mistake. The crowd chants "you fucked up!" Sami asks Roman to show clemency, stating Jey didn't mean what he said, he was just upset. Zayn continues to defend Jey, stating he's gone through a lot and he's just not been "very Ucey" lately. The crowd chants Ucey, haha. Roman Reigns and Jey Uso can't hide their laughter and are clearly caught laughing by the crowd, who pop for it. "Is that what's going on here," Roman asks, "because you're not feeling Ucey?" The crowd again with the Ucey chants and pop. Roman cannot keep from cracking up over this, nor can Jey who tries to hide his face off camera and with his hands. Thank God Vince isn't the boss anymore! Roman tells Jey "if you can't find your inner Ucey again, I'm gonna do something you ain't gonna like. This is what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna take that 'honorary' (on Sami's shirt) away and I'm gonna make him a full-blown Uce." Zayn grins huge. "No no, if you don't figure this out," Roman continues, "we just gonna change his name (to)...Sami Uso, y'all!" The crowd chants Sami Uso. Jey finally finds the ability to compose himself after all the Ucey-ness. This St. Louis crowd is on fire!
Heyman hops on the mic, stating the Tribal Chief has called an end to this segment and we should "please check out your Tribal Chief" next week from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel when he
will defeat defends his titles against Pogan Laul. Heyman then, literally, counts us down to a commercial break at 8:35.
Tag Team Match: the New Day vs Maximum Male Models
We return from break to find ma.çé and mån.sôör in the ring, awaiting their opponents. The New Day make their way out and in a pre-recorded vignette, offer to help the Maximum Male Models with their "pin" collection. We get the bell at 8:42pm and we're starting with Xavier Woods and mån.sôör. Maxxine Dupri is back after a week or so off. Woods and Kingston use quick tags to establish an early lead over mån.sôör. The New Day use a double team axe handle on mån.sôör before Woods send shim into the corner. Woods pursues and is popped over the turnbuckle, but lands on the apron. Maxxine distracts the referee, allowing ma.çé to take a cheap shot on Woods. He tags in and works with his partner to double-team woods with dual elbow strikes. They then pose briefly. ma.çé tags in mån.sôör and whips mån.sôör into Woods. Woods makes the hot tag to Kofi, who comes in via the top turnbuckle with a flying clothesline. Kofi fires off a series of kicks and dropkicks to lay out mån.sôör and ma.çé on the apron. Boom Drop from Kofi! The crowd cheer the New Day on as Kofi readies-up in the corner. The New Day hang on despite interference attempt by the illegal man, using a double-team finisher (the Midnight Hour, per Michael Cole) to pick up the win at 8:45pm!
Your Winners, the New Day! (3 minutes)
Backstage Interview: Sonya Deville
Kayla Braxton welcomes Sonya Deville backstage and asks her if she's answering Ronda Rousey's open challenge. Deville states it's a stupid question as it ruins the element of surprise. She states she knows who won't be challenging Rousey, and that's Liv Morgan. She talks smack about Morgan being at home pouting over her loss to Rousey until Liv Morgan attacks her from the blindside! Morgan brawls with Deville until officials physically drag her bag. We go to break at 8:47!
SmackDown Women's Championship Open Challenge: Ronda Rousey(c) vs Mystery Opponent
We return from break and Rousey makes her way out, hopping on the mic. The crowd have a mix of cheers and boos, but mostly boos and thumbs-down. "Well it looks like the belt is back where it belongs," she says as she hoists it up to more boos. "And you guys are actually in luck because I just so happen to be in a mood to prove it with an open challenge tonight. Oh, don't worry, I don't expect you to be grateful to have such an active champion or realize how impressive it is that I repeatedly defend this title at a moment's notice." She says only the great can recognize greatness which is why she doesn't expect us to understand, then she calls the crowd mediocre. She awaits her opponent, who turns out to be Emma, also known as Tenille Dashwood! She makes her way out and Ronda mocks her entrance. We head to break at 8:54pm--this match is next! We return at 8:58pm and get the bell to start our match. Wade Barrett's finally active on commentary and discusses Rousey's strategy with Cole, in that she's never faced Emma before. Cole points out Emma was the first WWE Diva from Australia.
Rousey controls as they do, keeping a slow and steady pace that alternates a few strikes with many words. Emma rolls to the outside; Rousey follows her and sends her into the steel steps. Rousey attempts a running knee smash but Emma moves, and Rousey kneels the steps! Emma sends Rousey into the ring and strings together a little offense, culminating with a cross-body off the top rope for a close two. Emma then runs into a gut kick, allowing Rousey to position Emma over the bottom rope while Rousey throws knees to her head. Rousey takes it back inside and uses her foot to disrespectfully kick Emma. Rousey begins to toy with Emma, using the ropes as weapons despite the ref's repeated objections and warnings. Rousey continues to keep the pace slow, talking more smack than doing moves. Finally Rousey slaps on a submission, yelling for Emma to tap and that the crowd "don't care about you, Emma!" The crowd attempt to get behind Emma and she rallies, rolling over to mount Rousey and unloading fists. Emma drops the champ with a clothesline but fails to cover. Both women recover at the same time.
Emma with a right, another, a third! Emma looks for a whip but Rousey counters with a whip of her own. Emma ducks under a clothesline; Emma follows it up with a Side Russian Leg Sweep in shades of Bret Hart, covering for two! Emma looks to take on Ronda in the corner; Rousey easily just moves out the way and slaps on an ankle lock in the middle of the ring. Emma hangs on and after half a minute, rolls through and sends Rousey into the corner. Emma sets up Rousey in a wheelbarrow position and hits a wheelbarrow suplex! The crowd pops for Emma as she charges Rousey, hitting a running forearm strike to a seated Rousey, covering for two! Emma pulls Rousey up for a butterfly suplex but Rousey slaps on the brakes! Rousey counters, hoisting Emma up, looking for the Piper's Pit. Emma escapes; the ref steps out of the way, and Rousey uses the momentary advantage to rake Emma's eyes! Rousey slaps on the armbar and Emma taps at 9:05pm!
Your Winner AND STILL SmackDown Women's Champion, Ronda Rousey! (7 minutes)
Backstage: Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, and Natalya
Rousey and Baszler cross paths backstage, with Shayna congratulating her friend Ronda. Natalya walks up and says that Ronda may think she's the baddest woman on the planet, but she got lucky that Nattie didn't answer the open challenge. Before Natalya can issue much more of a threat, Baszler chokes her out! Once Nattie is down, Baszler and Rousey walk off together.
Six-Man Tag Team Match: Legado Del Fantasma vs Hit Row & Mystery Partner
Zelina Vega, Santos Escobar, Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde make their way out first for this six-man tag team match! It's up next as we head to break at 9:09! Hit Row come out and B-Fab informs us that if Legado wants to keep this up, that's okay--they've got friends in high places. Enter Shinsuke Nakamura! The crowd pops big to welcome back the King of Strong Style! Legado begin to ready-up in the ring as Hit Row & Nakamura rush the ring! All six men begin to brawl! B-Fab looks for Vega but Zelina wisely leaves the ring. Hit Row and Nakamura batter LDF in different corners, with Top Dolla hitting a running splash in the corner on Wilde. Ashanti "Thee" Adonis follows it up with a monkey toss. Cruz Del Toro gets the same exact treatment, too, as Nakamura stomps away at Escobar in the corner. Zelina slides in to check on Escobar, telling him to focus. She turns around and B-Fab catches her with a bicycle kick! We head to another break at 9:17pm, with the match still not yet officially under way. We return at 9:20pm with this match under way. Cruz Del Toro, formerly known as Raul Mendoza, works over Ashanti Adonis. Adonis finds himself trapped in the LDF corner, with each member of LDF tagging in, rolling across the ring and running back to hit a clothesline in the corner as another stablemate tags in! This continues on multiple times until Escobar ends the sequence with a running Meteora followed by a double-suplex. Del Toro with a splash off the top for a close cover, but Top Dolla makes the save!
Wilde pulls up Adonis and takes too much time taunting Top Dolla. Adonis starts to resist, getting a few gut shots in as he tries desperately to gain some separation. Wilde holds onto the foot but Adonis escapes. Shinsuke Nakamura with the hot tag! Nakamura takes out Wilde and Del Toro, sending them out of the ring. Santos Escobar slaps Shin's chest, and Nakamura angrily fires back a combination of moves, sending Escobar into the corner and hitting his sliding German Suplex. Nakamura catches Wilde with a high kick outside the ring before entering, using a sliding knee for a close cover on Escobar. Top Dolla is tagged in and catches Del Toro mid-air as he leaps at him. Wilde leaps at Top Dolla and he catches him, too, slamming both LDF members down hard! Escobar from outta nowhere with a kick to Top Dolla's face! Escobar chops Top Dolla but it only serves to anger him. Top Dolla latches onto Escobar's wrist and runs up the nearby turnbuckles, lucha style, standing on the top turnbuckle before driving Escobar into the canvas! Nakamura is tagged in and finishes things off at 9:24pm, picking up the win for their team.
Your Winners, Hit Row & Shinsuke Nakamura! (4 minutes)

Heyman implores Reigns to watch a video, and he finally does. In it, it's Pogan Laul training. Heyman warns Reigns that it takes one lucky punch, then states that Logan Paul's doctor told a doctor that knows Heyman's doctor that Paul had his hand broken, and had steel pins or such put in his hand. Remember Lex Luger's "steel plate" running forearm strike? Yeah, that. Reigns warns Heyman, stating Paul's only had two matches and he doesn't feel he should be worried. We head to break at 9:27pm.
Backstage Interview: LA Knight; Ricochet
LA Knight starts to cut a promo but Ricochet walks up and calls him "La-la Knight" and insults Knight. He warns Knight to keep running his mouth as he promises someone will shut it. Looks like Knight's got his first feud opponent!
Singles Match: Madcap Moss vs Karrion Kross w/ Scarlett
Kross & Scarlett are out first. Mos sis out next with brand new theme music. The ref calls for the bell at 9:34pm. Kross and Moss go right at it, with Kross taking the early lead. Scarlett encourages her man on as he brutalizes Moss across the ring and in the corner, trapping him in it while unloading clotheslines and forearms. Moss starts to rally, hitting a missile dropkick to rock Kross followed by a clothesline that sends Kross over the top rope! We head to break at 9:36pm. We return at 9:42pm and find Kross in control over Moss once again. Kross focuses his work on Moss' shoulder, using the ropes to punish Moss as the ref issues a warning. After the match, Kross slapped the Kross-Jacket on Moss and got on the mic, while putting him to sleep, to taunt McIntyre (called him a coward, hypocrite, and said he stands for nothing). He then kept the Kross-Jacket on and refused to break it for several long moments.
Your Winner, Karrion Kross! (10 minutes)
Main Event Promo: Bray Wyatt
At 9:53pm we cut back to the arena and see the cryptic door, with blue light shining from behind it. The lights go dim, the audience turns on their flashes, and the music begins to pick up as the door opens. Fog fills the arena, flooding the open doorway until the light in it suddenly winks out. The crowd pops big as we see the faintest light...and there he is, Bray Wyatt, lamp in hand! The crowd pops again for the fiendish man. The crowd begin to sing along with the chorus of his theme as he makes his way through the fog, down the ramp, towards the ring. A beautiful shot shows us the arena, lit only by the lamp and the fans' camera flashes. Wyatt enters the ring to another big pop at 9:56pm. Wyatt blows out the lamp and his music cuts, the crowd pops, and he gets a mic. "I tell you what, this is still pretty new to me but I could get used to that! Do you feel that? My god! It's like adrenaline, oh my god," he says with a chuckle. The crowd pop for him and chant "welcome back" loudly. Wyatt soaks it in with a grin before continuing.
"I'm not gonna lie, when y'all start doing stuff like that, it starts making feel like I'm invulnerable, like I need to do something wild. But uh, I really wanted y'all to see something, right, something I'm very proud of here. I want you to notice that right now it's just me and you, just me and y'all, there's no mask that I"m hiding behind. There's no smoke and mirrors. It's just me and you. And that's what I want y'all to get used to, right? This is Bray Wyatt, the real man. This is the best version of me that will ever be. I am proud to be here today, and I'm gonna do some spectacular things while I'm here. The truth is, that for the majority of my life, I've been completely out of control. And I can't help that, man. My emotions, they don't work like most other people's. I don't have control; sometimes they can send me to a very dark place. And other times, no matter how hard I try, I don't feel anything at all." He pauses as the crowd cheers and hoots for him.
"I think that's part of what makes me, 'me', right? For me to get where I have gotten, I've had to do some really horrible horrible things." He admits part of him likes that, but he knows that's not the end of it, as "there might come another time when I'll be faced with some adversity, when I'm asked to do something completely horrible." The lights cut and we flash to the tron. The masked character we've been teased is shown, a mask with a face featuring white hair and goatee and a swamp-style hat, wearing a crown of thorns. The puppet-man goes on about destroying the world, and mocks Wyatt, stating that his comments about not wearing a mask aren't true. He claims Wyatt will never be far from him and announces "you are...Uncle Howdy." We cut our program at 10:01!
Next Week on SmackDown
Next week's episode is our go-home edition of SmackDown ahead of Saturday's Crown Jewel event. And that concludes it for tonight's episode! Have a great weekend, stay cool, stay frosty and stay safe out there, Rajahmaniacs. See you all Monday Night for Raw.
