WWE Friday Night Smackdown Quick Recap for 10/23/2020

For those of you who want just the quick results and don't want the details of matches, this is a quick recap of tonight's show. As always, there are spoilers for tonight's show below.

  • The Kevin Owens Show debuted on Smackdown. KO's guest was Daniel Bryan, whom he tried to convince to form a tag team with. He's never had the tag titles and wants them.
  • In eight man tag team action, the team of Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode lost to the team of the Street Profits, Daniel Bryan & Kevin Owens. This was Daniel Bryan's first action since June/July.
  • Law & Otis: A series of segments spoofing Law & Order and the People's Court, and featured JBL as the judge & Ron Simmons as the bailiff. Theodore Long showed up in the second segment, as the court recorder. After three segments, JBL "ruled" that Miz will battle Otis for the Money in the Bank contract this Sunday at Hell in a Cell.
  • Bianca Belair defeated Zelina Vega in her Smackdown debut match.
  • Lars Sullivan pounded Shorty G in a quick match that ended with a Freak Accident. Later in the broadcast, Shorty told Adam Pearce that he quit...being Shorty G and is now Chad Gable once again.
  • Sasha Banks briefly brawled with Bayley and forced her to sign the contract for Hell in a Cell. Their match is now official.
  • Seth Rollins defeated Murphy in a lengthy main event match. Post-match saw more buildup of the Aaliyah Mysterio/Murphy relationship.
  • Tribal Consequences: Roman Reigns warned Jey Uso of the consequences for this weekend's Hell in a Cell match. Jimmy Uso returned, Jey Uso ambushed Roman, and Roman told him that if Jey quits, both Jey & Jimmy, their wives and kids will all be expelled from the family/tribe.
