WWE Friday Night SmackDown Quick Recap for 6/25/2021, Episode #1140

For only four matches, the episode flew by pretty quickly. Worth a watch, but they've done better. Have a great weekend, everybody!

Matches Tonight: Four :(
  • Mixed Tag Team Match: Cesaro & SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair vs Seth Rollins & Bayley. A very good match that saw Seth Rollins and Bayley capitalize on a bit of chaos to pick up the win. 8:20-8:32pm EST
  • Money in the Bank Qualifier Match: Big E vs Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews. Better match than expected, worth the watch. Big E overcame the odds and interference to pick up the win and advance. 8:52-9:06pm EST
  • Money in the Bank Qualifier Match: Liv Morgan vs Carmella. Short match. Morgan needed to win to qualify for the MitB (Carmella was added by Deville). Morgan won. 9:22-9:25
  • Singles Main Event Match: Dolph Ziggler vs Jimmy Uso. Jimmy was warned by Heyman & Reigns to win this match or else. 9:31-9:42pm EST
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • The Coronation of the King: The ring was set up with a red carpet and throne as King Shinsuke Nakamura was officially crowned. ACKNOWLEDGE THE TRUE KING. Backstage, Corbin was in tears and so upset it appears he may have "quit." (He stated he didn't know what the point was even more, so take that for what you will.)
  • Trouble in the Tribe: Jey Uso didn't show up for work, and Jimmy Uso stepped up to fill the role as Roman Reigns' right-hand man.
  • Money in the Bank Update: Big E has advanced to the men's MitB; Sonya Deville selected Carmella as the first woman from SmackDown for the Women's MitB match and Liv Morgan won a qualifying match to become the second of four SmackDown women in the match.
  • Next Week on SmackDown: Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn in a Last Man Standing match.
  • State of the Universal Championship: Universal Champion Roman Reigns addressed the WWE Universe to end our show. He began walking to the ring at 9:42 and finally made it to speaking roles at 9:51pm EST. Heyman informed us that there was no one left to fight, and listed the various opponents Roman has defeated over the last year. Edge made his return, attacking the Universal Champion to end our program.
