It's the first SmackDown of 2025 and tonight we will see The Usos teaming up with Sami Zayn to take on Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu, Shinsuke Nakamura collides with Andrade, Nia Jax defends her Women's Championship against Naomi and more!

The show kicks off with clips from last week's episode with all the drama between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring to open the first SmackDown of 2025! Rhodes says WWE is on the verge of changing everything - starting tonight with Smackdown being three hours and RAW going to Netflix. Rhodes says he isn't cleared to wrestle and it's because of Kevin Owens. Rhodes discusses the ladder match that's scheduled for Royal Rumble pitting him against Kevin Owens. Drew McIntyre's music hits and he makes his way out to the ring. McIntyre gets in the ring and hugs Cody Rhodes who looks confused. McIntyre says he's here to help Rhodes and says they go way back and he's about to screw up his entire life's work. He tells Rhodes he is finally the centerpiece of the company and this is the best era of WWE and Rhodes is the quarterback of it all. He says he's out here to tell Rhodes that he needs someone to watch his back, and that Rhodes needs a friend. Rhodes tells McIntyre that he watched McIntyre carry the company during its dark years but he doesn't believe McIntyre and he can feel the tension between them. Rhodes asks McIntyre if he is wanting a title shot and if that's the real reason he's here. McIntyre leaves the ring and says Rhodes needs to watch his back and Kevin Owens runs in from behind Rhodes and attacks Rhodes. Officials run and try to break the two up but they continue to go at it. The two are finally separated and Kevin Owens leaves the ring area.
The New Bloodline is shown arriving at the arena. Naomi and Bianca Belair are shown entering the arena, as well, we see Andrade and Nia Jax arriving at the arena.
Match 1: Shinsuke Nakamura -vs- Andrade
The bell rings and Nakamura attacks Andrade right off the belt. Andrade takes down Nakamura with some kicks and sends Nakamura out of the ring. Andrade hits a second rope moonsault and we get a commercial break.
Back from break, Andrade hammers away on Nakamura and knocks him down with a leg sweep. Nakamura is in the corner and Andrade runs at him but Nakamura catches him and takes him down. The men trade right hands in the ring and Andrade chops Nakamura hard. Nakamura hits a snap German Suplex on the ropes and kicks Andrade in the face off the top rope and covers for a near fall. Nakamura removes the turnbuckle pad like last week but Andrade pushes Nakamura into the turnbuckle and then hits a running meteora and covers for a two count. Andrade gets on the top rope and hits his double moonsault and covers for a near fall again. Nakamura elbows Andrade and Andrade hits Nakamura with a back elbow and covers for a near fall. Andrade places Nakamura on the top turnbuckle and chops him. He climbs the ropes as well and tries for a superplex. Nakamura counters and slams Andrade's face into the ring post and throws him off the ropes. Nakamura hits a Kinshasa for the win.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura
LA Knight runs out after the match and starts beating down Nakamura until Nakamura makes his escape. LA Knight gets on the mic and says he's coming to collect what's owed to him and what goes around comes around.
Pretty Deadly encounters Apollo Crews backstage and they talk about Crews snitching on DIY and Crews talks about Pretty Deadly blaming Legado del Fantasma. Legado del Fantasma comes by and calls Pretty Deadly out and Berto and Angel attack Pretty Deadly until they're broken up. Nick Aldis comes by and tells Pretty Deadly he'd like to have a chat with them.
Aldis talks to Pretty Deadly about their false accusations. DIY interrupts and asks why Aldis is listening to Apollo Crews and not Pretty Deadly. DIY says Pretty Deadly would make great number one contenders and it's important they leave tonight as champs.
Match 2: Michin -vs- Piper Niven w/Chelsea Green
Michin runs at Niven at the bell and Niven carries Michin to the corner and beats on her in the corner. Michin slams down Niven with two hurricanrana and hits a third one on the outside to Niven. Niven hits a sidewalk slam on Michin on the outside and we hit a commercial break.
Back from the break, Michin hits a bulldog facebuster on Niven covers for a near fall. Michin attempts an Eat Defeat but Niven counters and tries to cannonball Michin in the corner but Michin gets out of the way. Michin kicks Niven to the mat and covers for a two count. Michin gets on the top rope and Niven moves out of the way. Michin goes for another Eat Defeat and Niven hits the Piper Driver and gets a near fall. Michin is dragged to the corner and tries to splash Michin but Michin knees her. Michin hits Eat Defeat for the win.

Paul Heyman is shown arriving at the arena and he avoids going through the metal detector.
Paul Heyman is in the ring when we get back from a commercial break. Heyman says he's here to set the record straight. He says on Monday we will all find out who is the true Tribal Chief. He says Sikoa was trained by him and Reigns to become the next Tribal Chief in the future... the future when Reigns was ready to step down... but not now. He says Sikoa stole the Ula Fala and didn't earn anything he has right now. Hey says Sikoa then found a posse of people to follow him as no one would ever acknowledge Solo Sikoa as Tribal Chief. He vows Reigns will be victorious on Monday. Solo Sikoa makes his way out to the ring and stands in front of Paul Heyman. Heyman says the last time they were face to face he was put through a table at the hands of Sikoa and his cronies. Sikoa puts out his hand and Heyman reluctantly gives Sikoa the mic. Sikoa asks Phoenix to acknowledge him and tells Heyman it's time he acknowledges the truth. He suggests he owe Heyman a favour like Heyman owes Punk a favour. He needs someone to hold the Ula Fala during the match on Monday. Sikoa says if Reigns beats him on Monday, Heyman can put the Ula Fala on Reigns' neck and Sikoa will acknowledge him as Tribal Chief. But, when Sikoa beats Reigns he will put the Ula Fala around his neck and everyone will know he owns the Ula Fala and that he owns the Wiseman. He tells Heyman that Heyman will be his Wiseman forever and Reigns will finally have to acknowledge him. Heyman puts the mic down on the mat and leaves.
Match 3 - WWE Tag Team Championship Match: DIY(c) -vs- Motor City Machine Guns
Ciampa and Sabin start the bout, with Ciampa working on Sabin's hands. Sabin flips around Ciampa and hits a couple arm drags and then slaps on an arm bar. Shelley is tagged in and they double team Ciampa. Gargano runs in and is sent outside the ring. In the ring, Shelley punches Ciampa and tags in Sabin. MCMG double team Ciampa and Gargano tags himself in. DIY is sent out of the ring, Sabin hits a suicide dive and takes out the champs.
Back from commercial break, Ciampa and Sabin battle in the ring. Sabin is slammed in the corner knocking Gargano off the apron. Ciampa is taken down with a clothesline and both men are laid out on the mat. Gargano and Shelley are tagged in and Shelley takes down Gargano and hits a neck breaker on Gargano. Shelley covers for a near fall and DIY now try double teaming Shelley. Shelley tags Sabin and MCMG takes out DIY outside the ring. Back in the ring, Shelley is tagged in and Gargano now delivers punches to both members of MCMG. MCMG hit a double kick on Gargano and Ciampa breaks the pin. All four men are in the ring, Sabin and Ciampa trade blows in the ring. Both teams kick the hell out of each other and all four men are laid out. Gargano tags in Ciampa and Ciampa starts with chops on Shelley. Sabin tags himself in and MCMG double team Ciampa. Shelley is tagged in now and they set up Skull and Bones and Pretty Deadly runs out to distract MCMG. DIY double team Shelley and gets a near fall. Los Garza runs out and chase off Pretty Deadly. In the ring, MCMG throw DIY in submission holds and Los Garza attacks Pretty Deadly in the ring calling for a DQ

Backstage, Nia Jax and Candice LeRae talk about Nia's match. Jax asks where Tiffany Stratton is, and LeRae talks about how terrible Stratton is. Jax asks LeRae to keep Bianca Belair occupied so she doesn't affect the outcome of her match.
Sami Zayn walks backstage and comes across Carmelo Hayes. Hayes says he had Zayn beat but Strowman interfered. Zayn tells Hayes he ran away. The Usos come up behind Hayes and ask if there is a problem. Hayes retreats. Zayn and The Usos get ready to get on the same page for their match. The Usos walk away and run into Kevin Owens and Owens tells them to watch their backs.
Nick Aldis catches up with Cody Rhodes and tells him he's putting him on the shelf until Royal Rumble as Rhodes seems to be getting himself into fights. Rhodes says he's the champ and this is his road and Aldis can do his job but Rhodes will do his.
Match 4 - WWE SmackDown Women's Championship Match: Nia Jax(c) w/Candice LeRae -vs- Naomi w/Bianca Belair
Jax runs at Naomi at the bell, Naomi hits her with a drop kick and beats on Jax in the corner. Naomi comes at Jax with some kicks to her legs and Jax fires back with a headbutt planting Naomi on the mat. Naomi is thrown into the corner and squished. Naomi hits a drop toe hold on Jax sending her into the turnbuckle. Jax whips Naomi on to the mat and Naomi rolls to the apron and Jax sends her to the mat with a headbutt.
Back from break, Naomi moves out of the way as Jax tries to sit on her. Jax catches Naomi and hits a swinging uranage on Naomi and covers for a near fall. Jax slams Naomi and then hits her with an elbow drop and covers for a two count. Naomi is placed in a headlock and Jax then throws Naomi into the ringpost shoulder first. Jax slams Naomi's head against the turnbuckle and Naomi kicks out of the pin. Jax sets up Naomi for a powerbomb - Naomi counters into a sunset flip and gets a near fall. Jax clotheslines Naomi and sets up for the anNIAhilator. Naomi counters and hits a second rope leg drop and covers for a two count. Nia runs into the ring post and is sent out for the ring. Naomi hits a suicide dive on Jax outside and rolls her back in the ring. Naomi clubs Jax with a double axe handle and then hits a huge kick on Jax and hits a Samoan Drop on Jax! She covers Jax but Jax kicks out. Naomi drags Jax to the corner and Jax gets up and clubs Naomi. Jax sets up Naomi upside down in the corner and drives her hips into Naomi. Jax hits a second rope leg drop on Naomi and Naomi kicks out at two. Jax pounds away on Naomi in the ring and misses an Annihilator attempt. Naomi hits a second rope tornado DDT and Jax kicks out of the pin. Jax rolls out to the apron and Naomi hits her with some knees between the ropes. Naomi hits a facebuster on the ropes and covers for a two count.
Back to the action, Jax throws Naomi into the corner. Naomi hits a blockbuster and covers for a near fall. Naomi slams Jax down for a near fall and then slaps her in a submission hold. LeRae tries to get involved and Bianca Belair attacks LeRae outside the ring. Jax comes out and saves LeRae and throws Belair into the stairs. In the ring, Naomi and Jax are on the top rope and Naomi slams down Jax. Tiffany Stratton runs down and says she wants to cash in, and then changes her mind. LeRae distracts the ref and Stratton smokes Naomi with her briefcase allowing Jax to hit the annihilator and get the win.
Winner: Nia Jax
After the match, Tiffany Stratton tells Jax to attack Bianca Belair. As Jax goes to attack, Stratton hits Jax with her briefcase and then takes out Candice LeRae. Belair hits Jax with the KOD, and Stratton makes quick work of Belair. She tells the ref to cash in her briefcase.
Match 5 - Money in the Bank Cash In: Nia Jax(c) -vs- Tiffany Stratton
Stratton cashes in her briefcase and hits her moonsault and gets the win.
Winner and NEW SmackDown Women's Champion: Tiffany Stratton
Backstage, The New Bloodline walk backstage. Jacob Fatu screams about how Sikoa will be beating Reigns.
LA Knight is talking to Nick Aldis backstage and Byron Saxton is waiting to chat with Knight. Knight says he was talking to Aldis because he wanted to know why he attacked Nakamura. He says he's doing what Nakamura did to him, every time he sees Nakamura he's going to beat him up.

Match 6: Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga -vs- Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and Sami Zayn
All six men go at it in the ring. The New Bloodline is sent out of the ring and we go to commercial
Back from break, Jey comes off the top rope and hits Fatu who tags out to Tonga. Tonga and Jey lock up and Tonga gets Jey in the corner and kicks him in the face a few times. Tonga gets whipped into the corner super hard and Jey immobilizes Tonga tagging in Zayn allowing him to attack Tonga. Zayn hits a double axe handle on Tonga and Jimmy is now tagged in. Jimmy kicks Tonga in the face and Solo hits a sneak attacks on Jimmy. Tonga tags out and Sikoa comes in and he punches Jimmy out in the corner. Sikoa hits Jimmy with a headbutt and then chokes him out on the ropes. Jimmy tags out to Zayn who comes at Sikoa with some right hands. Zayn tries take Sikoa out with clotheslines and finally gets him down after a springboard clothesline. Zayn elbows Sikoa and Zayn tries to come off the top rope and jumps into a Spinning Solo and we get another break.
Back to SmackDown, Sikoa is brutalizing Zayn and hits a Samoan Drop on Zayn and covers for a near fall. Tonga is tagged in and he mounts Zayn and lays down a barrage of punches on Zayn. Tonga tags in Fatu who hammers away on Zayn. Fatu tags Sikoa who continues to attack Zayn. Zayn is able to hit the Blue Thunder Bomb on Sikoa and crawls to his corner to tag out. Sikoa tags Tonga and Jey Uso is tagged in. Uso punches Tonga down and kicks him and hits an uppercut. Jimmy Uso is tagged in and they double team Tonga. The Usos continue to double team Tonga, Fatu gets in the ring and Jimmy and Fatu are sent outside. In the ring, Jey hits a neckbreaker on Tonga and covers for a near fall. Outside the ring, Fatu beats up Jimmy, Zayn makes the save and Sikoa takes out Zayn. Jey takes out Sikoa and in the ring, Tama Tonga hits a cradle DDT on Jey and covers for a near fall. Fatu is now tagged in and Jey superkicks Fatu and tags in Zayn, who then tags in Jimmy. They all take turns crashing into Fatu in the corner. Zayn and Jey take out Sikoa and Tonga. In the ring, Jimmy hits a splash and covers for a two count. Fatu now splashes on Jimmy and hits a moonsault for a near fall that Zayn breaks up. Zayn is sent out of the ring, Jey tags himself in and they double team Fatu. They hit Fatu with a double super kick and get a near fall. Drew McIntyre makes his way out to the ring. Jey suicide dives out of the ring onto McIntyre. In the ring, Jey walks into a Samoan Drop and gets covered for a near fall. Fatu tags in Sikoa but Jey doesn't see and still fights Fatu. Sikoa hits Jey with a Samoan Spike after Jey splashes into Fatu. Sikoa covers Jey for the win.
Winners: The New Bloodline
The New Bloodline poses in the ring, as Jey, Jimmy and Zayn lay outside the ring when the credits start rolling.
