Brian Pillman is one of the most controversial and outspoken wrestling personalities in the business, but he was still one of the most beloved and adored wrestler in the sport. Pillman passed away at the age of 35 back in 1997 due to a heart attack, with his life in and out of wrestling being featured on the season 3 premiere of Dark Side of the Ring.
Prior to the tragic passing of Brian Pillman, he was scheduled to battle WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley (Dude Love) at the WWE In Your House 18: Badd Blood PPV, but Pillman never made it to the event. Mick Foley watched Brian Pillman's Dark Side of the Ring episode and said it hit him hard.
Foley said, “I finally got the chance to watch the Pillman episodes of @DarkSideOfRing…my eyes were glued to the screen.” “It hit me hard. I dropped Brian off at the hotel he died in, and was his scheduled opponent for the PPV event he never made it to.”
Brian Pillman's Dark Side of the Ring episode was able to draw a total of 272,000 viewers.
