WWE Hall of Famer Recalls Mick Foley No-Showing Raw

On a recent episode of Grilling JR, former WWE play-by-play announcer Jim Ross recalled some of the fallout from the Montreal Screwjob.

Before the post-Survivor Series episode of RAW Mick Foley sent a message to WWE, in response to the treatment Brett Hart received in Montreal. Ross mentioned that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had no problem with the decision by Foley, and told listeners:

“Vince had no issues with it whatsoever...Vince said ‘If others want to go, JR, there’s no harm, no foul. If they want to go home and sort through this stuff, whatever, let them. We’ll have TV with whomever’s here. We can make that happen.’ Because Vince had the most powerful weapon in all of pro wrestling: the old eraser. Somebody goes up, somebody goes out, they’re not available, put somebody else in the game.”

Mick returned to the company two days later, where he competed against Rocky Maivia, during a Raw taping.
