WWE Has Lifted WrestleMania 42 Watch Party Blackouts Around Las Vegas

WWE has backed out of its intentions to "black out" of WrestleMania 42 watch parties that were within close vicinity of Allegiant Stadium.

Last month, it was reported that WWE had informed local establishments within a 50 mile radius of the WrestleMania venue that they would not be able to show or air the premium live event for their customers. The company instituted a similar practice for Elimination Chamber in Chicago.

According to Fightful Select, over the last week there had been "positive momentum" on watch parties being allowed in Vegas for WrestleMania and on Friday, Circa Las Vegas' Stadium Swim publicly revealed that the ban on watch parties had been lifted, giving establishments the ability to air the event if they license it through Joe Hand Promotions.

WWE's initial idea to introduce the blackout was to boost lagging ticket sales - a policy that other sporting events have also used in the past. It is believed that several establishments - such as casinos and hotels - had expressed frustration with the ban and this was echoed as well by city officials. One source told Fightful that the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Board paid a hefty site fee to bring WrestleMania to the city and the goal for the Authority was to generate positive economic impact for the entire city and not just WWE and Allegiant Stadium.
