WWE Holds Conference Call With Employees; Warns of Roster Cuts

-- Earlier this morning, Vince McMahon held a quick conference call with employees after the company released a modified outlook amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The call lasted only about five minutes with McMahon mentioning the following key points:

  • Reiterated that the company would be offering furlough and announcing cutbacks for both staff and the company overall during these challenging times
  • Compensation for Board Members and the Executive Team will be reduced as the company tries to manage its finances.
  • The plans to move WWE headquarters from the old Titan Towers to the new offices in Stamford, CT are currently on hold/delayed.
  • Roster cuts are to be expected. The company will be reducing the overall headcount of employees - some temporarily as they go on furlough and others permanently will be relieved of their responsibilities. Employees will receive text messages discussing their status.

-- Given all that, multiple sources are reporting that talent cuts are imminent and could begin to be announced as early as today.
