WWE Injury Update On Dominik Mysterio; Latest Timeline On When He Is Expected Back

Reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio suffered a shoulder injury earlier this month at the AAA Guerra de Titanes event and was subsequently pulled from live events.

On last night's WWE Raw, the company publicly stated that Mysterio would be out indefinitely due to the injury and following the show, Dave Meltzer provided an update on his status.

According to Meltzer, Dominik Mysterio does not need surgery and WWE is currently placing a three-to-four week timetable on his return. Meltzer noted that the shoulder injury is not considered long-term by any means and that WWE is expecting Mysterio back in time for Royal Rumble.

Meltzer did caution that the timeline is "fluid" but that the 3-4 week recovery is news that he got from WWE's medical staff upon being evaluated. When surgery was ruled out, it was a relief to everyone as going under the knife would have sidelined Mysterio for months and much like Seth Rollins, would have forced him to vacation his title.
