WWE Japan Division Has Reportedly Been Dissolved

WWE has had plans of expanding their NXT brand in different countries for years now in places such as Japan, Canada, and Australia, but it seems that the WWE's Japan division is no more as according to a report by Gamebiz.jp, WWE's Japan GK division (WWE Japan LLC) was dissolved on Thursday, September 2. It was also noted, via a “Public Notice of Dissolution” in a Government Bulletin dated September 2nd, that all investors agreed to the disbandment of the WWE Japan LLC division.

The report mentioned that WWE’s return to Japan for three live events were cancelled in July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of this writing, the WWE's Japan website and social media accounts still remain to be active, but they are likely just for branding and content purposes for the fans in Japan and not the actual company that has brought WWE events in the country.

There is no word yet on if the expansion has been nixed altogether, or if they are continuing with it under the WWE's International division that was revamped earlier this year, but updates will be given once it has been made available.
