As previously reported, WWE's Japan division (WWE Japan LLC) was dissolved on Thursday, September 2nd and all the investors agreed to the disbandment of the WWE Japan LLC division via a “Public Notice of Dissolution” in a Government Bulletin that was also dated September 2nd. This report came after WWE’s return to Japan for three live events that was supposed to take place in July 2020 were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
An update was recently provided by WWE's Japan website that as of tomorrow, September 24, the website (wwe.co.jp) will be closing down and that they will continue to deliver any information in regards to the WWE in Japanese from their social media accounts. It was also stated on the site that the contact point for inquiries in Japanese will be closed and they thanked the fans for their patronage over the years.
This appears to be a big setback for the WWE as they had plans of expanding their NXT brand in places such as Japan, Canada, and Australia. The WWE has so far only expanded to the UK and given the issues right now, it does not look like there are any plans to expand the NXT brand soon.
