With the 2025 winding down and only a handful of events left in the calendar year, the respective schedules for both WWE and AEW are becoming more clear.
WWE traditionally has ran New York's fabled Madison Square Garden immediately after Christmas as a form of a super-show, however, that annual highlight is not going to happen this year. On the latest WrestleVotes Radio podcast, it was reported that because WWE is holding an episode of Monday Night Raw at MSG just a month prior - November 17 - it is likely the main reason that they aren't going to come back in December. The November 17 Raw is also doubling up as John Cena's final appearance in the iconic building before he retires from in-ring competition.
The podcast also provided an update on the situation between WWE and AEW where the former has been choosing to run their events directly head-to-head against the latter. According to the report, there are no further plans for the balance of the year for any WWE event to conflict with an AEW show. Of course, that would be after Saturday, September 20 when WWE Wrestlepalooza and AEW All Out both air, however, as noted before, AEW moved up their start time so only a small portion of the shows will overlap.
