WWE Makes It Official With Signing Wade Barrett

Move over Mauro Ranallo's of the wrestling world, there's a new commentator in town... and WWE has made it official with an exclusive contract!

As we reported here at Rajah.com late last month, https://rajah.com/node/wade-barrett-currently-discussions-wwe-about-ful… Wade Barrett was in talks with WWE after a four year absence from the company. His initial two week guest spot at the announcer's table was in fact what most had speculated, a "feeler" Barrett has been handling commentary for the past few weeks after the sudden departure of Mauro Ranallo. Now, we can expect Barrett to commentate on NXT for the foreseeable future.

In regards to the contract, WWE shared with Sports Illustrated:

Wade Barrett has officially signed with NXT as part of the commentary team.

The former Intercontinental Champion has been part of the announce team in recent weeks alongside Vic Joseph and Beth Phoenix.

As first reported by Sports Illustrated, Barrett will now remain an official member of the announce team. The former King of the Ring returned as a color analyst for the black-and-gold brand after several years away from WWE.

"I am as passionate, as motivated, and as excited to be in the NXT broadcast booth as I ever was to be in the ring," Barrett told SI. "I can't wait for the next few months and the next few years. I am thrilled to share the stories of the stars of NXTWade, and I am very grateful for the chance to entertain people every week. I am so excited for this new role."

Triple H took time out to personally welcome Wade Barrett's return to the brand stating:

Thrilled to be "officially" working together. Wade will add a valuable perspective to the commentary table and add insight from his years of in-ring experience each week on #WWENXT. #WeAreNXT @StuBennett

Wade Barrett can now be found alongside Beth Phoenix and Vic Joseph respectively during the black-and-gold action Wednesdays on NXT at 8/7 C on the USA Network.
