As previously reported, last Friday night's episode of WWE SmackDown saw Ronda Rousey address the WWE Universe on her loss to WWE SmackDown Women's Champion "The Queen" Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 38 Night One and said she made Flair tap out while the referee was knocked out cold. Ronda then issued a challenge to Flair for an “I Quit” Match at WrestleMania Backlash with her SmackDown Women's Title on the line.
Charlotte Flair then responded to The Baddest Woman On The Planet via the big screen, but turned down her challenge. Later on the show, Rousey confronted WWE official Adam Pearce, who said that the match was being worked out and would likely be made official on Saturday. WWE has recently confirmed on the company's official Twitter account that the “I Quit” Matchup between Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title has now been made official for next month's Premium Live Event.
As of this writing, no other matches have been announced for WWE's WrestleMania Backlash, but talents that are advertised to appear include Brock Lesnar, "Big Time Becks" Becky Lynch, one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
WWE WrestleMania Backlash is set to take place on Sunday, May 8th inside the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
