One of WWE's most legendary tag teams is finally going into the Hall of Fame.
Demolition - Ax and Smash - were announced today as being the latest entrants into WWE's Hall of Fame, Class of 2026 joining the already announced AJ Styles and Stephanie McMahon. The former tag team champs were informed of their induction by The Undertaker.
Demolition - played by Barry Darsow and Bill Eadie - held the WWE tag titles on three separate occasions including a memorable first reign in which they held the belts for 478 days, a WWE record that stood for nearly three decades until surpassed by The New Day in 2015-2016.
Demolition — who individually went by the names Ax & Smash — were three-time WWF Tag Team Champions in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their first reign, which spanned for 478 days, was the longest in WWE history until it was broken by The New Day in 2015-2016.
Many believed Demolition should have already been in the Hall of Fame, but legal squabbles with WWE prevented that fom happening as Eadie and Darsow both filed lawsuits against the company in the 90s. However, all the issues seemed to disappear last year when WWE's new regime inked the team to Legends contracts all but confirming they were going to be entering the Hall of Fame sooner rather than later.
