-- WWE's recently completed Payback was a massive success for the company financially and they touted this in a press release. Merchandise sales as usual were a big part of the revenue that WWE raked in and fightfulselect.com has reported on more details on those sales.
-- According to the report, generic WWE merchandise such as briefcases, championship belts, Payback and WWE branded merchandise topped the list and this is almost always the case at these premium live events as these items quickly add up and generate more revenue than things like t-shirts - for example, one title belt can end up out-generating one or two dozen shirts.
-- Among individual talent, Cody Rhodes was at the top of the list for merch sales beating out even John Cena who was second. LA Knight merchandise was the third best seller on the night and his line of items is actually relatively new to live events as they were previously only available online. However, due to Knight's growing popularity, WWE has made a strong effort to get more of his merchandise to their live shows.
