WWE NXT 2.0 Quick Recap for January 18, 2022
Matches Tonight: Seven
- Singles Match: Grayson Waller vs Dexter Lumis. Very good match that saw Waller win after his new bodyguard (name yet unknown) attacked Lumis when the referee was distracted. 8:13-8:23pm EST.
- Dusty Classic Opening Round Match: Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen vs the Creed Brothers. Briggs was impressive when in the ring, but the Creed Brothers still picked up the win to advance to the semi-finals. 8:34-8:42pm EST.
- Singles Match: Dante Chen vs Guru Raaj. Dante Chen won by Disqualification when a returning Duke Hudson attacked him shortly into the match. 8:50-8:52pm EST.
- Singles Match: Ivy Nile vs Kay Lee Ray. Nile won after Rose distracted Ray. After the match, Toxic attraction clashed with Ray and Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta. Start time unrecorded, end time 9:20pm EST.
- Dusty Classic Opening Round Match: Malik Blade & Edris Enofé vs Legado del Fantasma. Malik & Edris pulled off the upset after Santos Escobar's attempt to distract them backfired, leading to Bron Breakker literally carrying Escobar to the back. The distraction cost LDF, who fell victim to a roll-up. 9:27-9:30pm EST.
- Singles Match: Dakota Kai vs Yulisa Leon w/ Valentina Feroz. Great effort from Leon but Kai picked up the win. 9:38-9:42pm EST.
- Main Event Match: WALTER vs Roderick Strong. I know, no one thought this was a good idea--but it turned out into a GREAT match! WALTER dominated for the most part, but Strong was as scrappy as ever and hit a huge top-rope Superplex in the biggest spot of the night. Strong lost, but he went down fighting. After the match, Imperium and the Diamond Mine's Creed Brothers both hit the ring and all six men began to brawl, fading us to black. 9:53-10:05pm EST.
