WWE NXT Live Event Results (1/25/19) - Riverside, CA

Thanks to Rem Martinez for sending this in:

Hey guys, I just got back from the NXT Live Event at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside, California. This is the last stop before NXT Takeover: Phoenix. Kayla Braxton is our announcer for the evening. Enjoy the Champ's Report of the show.

We are joined by NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa. He gets on the mic and says how great of a 2018 he had. He claims he's going to win the male NXT Superstar of the year and Goldie (the NXT Championship belt) should win female Superstar of the year. He introduces his friend, Johnny Gargano. Johnny is still reluctant in forgiving his former tag team partner. Johnny gets in the ring and Ciampa leaves.

Match #1
Johnny Gargano vs Tyler Bate
Both men got a huge reaction. Plenty of dueling Moustache Mountain and Johnny Wrestling chants. Opening matches of a wrestling show don't get better than this. A lot of crazy back and forth action. Johnny and Tyler hit all of their spots much to the Delight of the crowd. Johnny gets Tyler in the Gargano Escape and Tyler eventually has to tap out.
Winner: Johnny Gargano by submission
Well done gentlemen.

Match #2
Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir vs Candice LeRae, Io Shirai and Kairi Sane
Candice got the hometown pop as she was billed from Riverside. Jessamyn and Marina are still a little green and it showed. The babyfaces were flying all over the place. Eventually the heels are able to take control. Kairi and Io are taken out on the outside. That leaves Candice LeRae with a 3 on 1 disadvantage in the ring. Candice is eventually taken down. Shayna grabs her belt and brings in the ring. Jessamyn and Marina hold up Candice, so Shayna can take her out with the NXT Women's Championship belt. Suddenly, Bianca Belair's music hits. The number one contender for the NXT Women's Championship is standing on the entrance way. This causes Shayna and Marina to get out of the ring to confront Bianca. This distraction allows Candice to roll up the legal Duke. 1-2-3.
Winners: Candice LeRae, Kairi Sane and Io Shirai

Match #3
Dominik Dijakovic vs Kona Reeves
Dominik looks physically impressive in person. He did his "Feast Your Eyes" catchphrase way too many times during the match. This was nothing memorable, but it wasn't bad. Dominik ended the match with a Burning Hammer into a Knee to the Face 1-2-3.
Winner: Dominik Dijakovic

Match #4
Ricochet and War Raiders vs Undisputed ERA (Kyle O'Reilly, Bobby Fish, and Roderick Strong)
Ricochet got the biggest pop of the night. The NXT North American Champion was also wearing war paint like his tag team partners, which I thought was a nice touch. Ricochet definitely did not disappoint when it came to his high flying. Match ends when Roddy is taken out with an assisted pop-up powerslam by the Rowe and Hanson 1-2-3.
Winners: Ricochet and War Raiders
A good match and now we head to intermission.

Match #5
Kassius Ohno vs Matt Riddle
Ohno cut a promo before the match. He basically said that the NXT universe is the lowest common denominator because we identify with someone that is a "Bro". A very good back and forth match with Ohno capitalizing by attacking the bare feet of Matt Riddle. He even bit one of his feet. Yeah. Riddle eventually gets an inside cradle for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Matt Riddle

Match #6
Street Profits vs The Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake w/Jaxson Ryker)
Ford and Dawkins were over big-time. Montez Ford seems to have an unlimited supply of energy because he was hyped up from start to finish. Angelo Dawkins gets the pin on Wesley Blake while Montez Ford dove to the outside to wipe out Ryker and Cutler. 1-2-3.
Winners: Street Profits

Main Event
Adam Cole vs Velveteen Dream
The crowd exploded for both men. Velveteen Dream took off his shirt to reveal a cut off Adam Cole shirt underneath. This infuriated Adam. This was a very fun back-and-forth match. Velveteen Dream connects with the Purple Rainmaker for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Velveteen Dream
The Dream cut a baby face promo to send the crowd home happy
