WWE NXT News & Notes: Roster Cuts Topic of Conversation, Mike Rome Backstage, more

-- The following are news and notes following Tuesday's NXT show, as per fightfulselect.com:

  • WWE's multiple releases on Friday were said to be a "common topic of conversation" backstage, with some people expressing frustration at the cuts.
  • The incorporation of "Sexy Red" into Tuesday's NXT show was obviously fully intended and it is being described as a partnership with more interactions with the rapper fully expected in the future.
  • Mike Rome was backstage at NXT for at least part of the show, despite initial reports that he would be announcing. People who spoke to Rome noted that he was seen re-acquainting himself in preparation for his impending move to the brand. Rome was said to be "enthusiastic" about his new role.
  • Meanwhile, Alicia Taylor has wrapped up with NXT and as noted by Shawn Michaels on social media, she received a farewell from talent backstage after the show ended. Taylor also said goodbye to the audience in attendance after the cameras stopped rolling. She is scheduled to move over to the Smackdown brand effective immediately.
  • Dijak and Kiana James, recent NXT draft picks to Raw, were notably absent from Monday's Raw. The reason for that absence is due to the fact that the main roster creative is currently pitching ideas for them both.
