WWE NXT RESULTS (2/21/2023)

This week's show kicks off with the usual "WWE Then. Now. Forever. Together" opening signature narrated by WWE legend John Cena. After that, we shoot inside the CWC in the WWE PC where fans are chanting "NXT! NXT!" as the camera pans the venue.

Trick Williams vs. Ilja Dragunov

The theme for Trick Williams hits and out he comes with a microphone in-hand, rhyming and cutting a promo on his opponent Ilja Dragunov, as he heads to the ring and settles inside.

Now the theme for Ilja Dragunov plays and out he comes for this one-on-one showdown in tonight's opening contest. Vic Joseph and Booker T talk on commentary about how Dragunov has spoken about pain making him feel alive, something Trick referenced in his pre-match freestyle promo.

The bell sounds and we're officially off-and-running with this one. Williams charges across the ring and attacks Dragunov before he even takes his robe off. Dragunov gets him down to the mat and works him over with grappling.

Back standing, Williams backs Dragunov in a corner and lights him up with some shots. Dragunov ends up getting his hands grasped on him and takes him back to the mat where his superior grappling again shows itself.

Williams blasts Dragunov with a nice right hand that decks him momentarily. He plays to the crowd chanting "Whoop that Trick-Trick!" and then finds himself flying over the hips of Dragunov again, as he is taken back to the mat yet again. Vic Josephs mentions if this were being scored on points, Dragunov would be way ahead.

Now we see Dragunov charge across the ring and blast Trick with a big knee in the corner. He starts to settle into a comfortable offensive lead from there. Trick ends up shifting the momentum after knocking Dragunov off the top-rope.

Dragunov crashes and burns on the floor at ringside and then we see JD McDonagh emerge from backstage. He stares at Dragunov as Vic Joseph questions what business McDonagh has coming out here. As the action resumes inside the ring, we head to a mid-match commercial break.

When we return from the break we see Dragunov fighting his way back into competitive form. As he goes on an offensive spree, the fans break out in a loud "This is Awesome!" chant. JD McDonagh joins in on commentary alongside Booker T and Vic Joseph.

Trick starts to take over again and the fans break out in a "Fight Forever!" chant. Dragunov hits a big forearm that slows down Williams' momentum. Dragunov hits a muscle-up German suplex and then he lets out a war cry as the fans pop.

Dragunov backs in a corner and calls for the finish and then charges at Trick and connects with it for the pin fall victory in an excellent opening match.

Winner: Ilja Dragunov

JD McDonagh & Ilja Dragunov Stare Down

As soon as the bell sounds, JD McDonagh, who said nothing while on commentary, takes his headset off and throws it down. He stands up and starts jawing back-and-forth with Dragunov off-mic from ringside.

Jinder Mahal Talks About Tonight's Main Event

We shoot to a video package with new comments from Jinder Mahal. "The Modern Day Maharaja" talks into the camera about why timing is everything, as well as how fans are growing to resent Bron Breakker. He vows to defeat him tonight and become NXT World Champion.

Fallon Henley & Josh Briggs Talk About What Happened

Now we shoot backstage where Fallon Henley is trying to get hold of Brooks Jensen, but can't, so apologizes again via voicemail. In walks Josh Briggs who tells her to give Jensen some time.

Fallon asks if that was really Kiana James' brother she said "I love you" to, then why did she go on and on about it? Briggs convinces her to calm down and she says she's going to seek out Kiana to apologize. We head to a commercial break after this.

Roxanne Perez Does Meiko Satomura's Class

We shoot to an earlier today video that shows Meiko Satomura training a lot of aspiring and up-and-coming women's wrestling talents. In comes Roxanne Perez, who asks if she can take part in the class.

Satomura says she can. One-by-one we see everyone bailing and giving up until the only two still standing are Roxanne and Meiko. Roxanne bows and assumes they're done. As she goes to leave, Satomura asks her where she's going, that was just the warm-up. The segment ends there.

Tyler Bate Confronted By The Schism

Now we shoot back inside the CWC where Tyler Bate's theme hits and out he comes to the ring. Bate gets on the mic and says he's normally a man of few words. As he continues there's a small pocket of fans chanting "We want Waller / No we don't!" that is annoyingly hard to ignore.

Bate continues and mentions believing in the natural unfolding of things and timing. He says together, he and NXT are going to embark on a mystical journey together. He says "now let me tell you this," but before he can say anything else, he is interrupted.

The theme music for The Schism hits and out comes the group. They talk about being kindred spirits in some ways but not in others as they slowly make their way down to the ring. They surround him and mention that none of the fans will help him and how he has no friends.

Andre Chase & Duke Hudson vs. Jagger Reid & Rip Fowlar

As they get ready to beat him down, the theme for Chase U hits and out comes Andre Chase, Duke Hudson and Thea Hail. The Chase U tag-team match against Jagger Reid & Rip Fowlar is up next. With that said, we head to a pre-match commercial break.

When we return from the break, we see Chase U working over Reid and Fowlar duking it out in the ring, with Chase and Hudson faring well thus far. The heel opposition starts to take over from there. We see Thea Hail looking with anguish on her face and screaming loudly at ringside multiple times.

Now we head to a mid-match, picture-in-picture commercial break as the action continues. When we return, the crowd is hot as Chase U starts to fire up for a big offensive comeback. Andre Chase hits a wild moonsault that takes out Rip Fowlar on the floor.

Chase heads to the top-rope again and crashes into Reid in the ring with a cross-body splash for a close near fall attempt. Thea Hail has another freak out at ringside, which brings Chase out to help her. As he does, Hudson is dominated by double-team action and pinned.

Winners: Jagger Reid & Rip Fowlar

Dissension Within Chase U?

After the match, we see Andre Chase with Thea Hail again in the ring, as she still seems shook up. Duke Hudson, frustrated about the loss, yells at Chase to quit enabling Thea and let her grow up. He asks if this is a university or a charity. He walks off angry.

Von Wagner Gets Confronted By Tony D'Angelo & Stacks

Now we shoot backstage where we see Von Wagner and Robert Stone bickering back-and-forth when they are approached by Tony D'Angelo and Stack. They argue back and forth and a match is made.

Drew Gulak Explains Turning On Hank Walker

Now we shoot to McKenzie Mitchell, who is standing by with Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey. Gulak is asked why he turned on his friend, Hank Walker. He claims Hank was never his friend and criticizes him before putting over Dempsey. The two walk off together.

Jacy Jane vs. Indi Hartwell

We head back inside the CWC and for the first time since the toxic explosion within Toxic Attraction, which ultimately led to the split of Jacy Jane and Gigi Dolin, Jane makes her way out for singles action.

She settles in the ring where she will go one-on-one against Indi Hartwell when we return. On that note, we head to a pre-match commercial break. When we return, we see a Sol Ruca vignette and then head back into the CWC where Hartwell makes her way to the ring.

The bell sounds and we're officially off-and-running with this one. We hear an "Indi Wrestling!" chant straight out of the gate. Hartwell fares well early on but it isn't long before Jane takes over and establishes a firm control of the offense, stopping only to taunt the fans.

As Jane continues to dominate, we see Hartwell shift the offensive momentum back into her favor, but only briefly as Jane takes over again. Jacy dominates for a couple of minutes and yells in Hartwell's face that "it's all about me!"

She keeps this up until out of nowhere we see Gigi Dolin attack her from behind. She beats her down and assaults her outside of the ring.

Winner via DQ: Jacy Jane

Roxanne Perez Finishes Training With Meiko Satomura

We head back to the Meiko Satomura class footage and we see she and Roxanne Perez working out in the ring. Finally the class ends and Satomura tells Perez that it comes from your mind, not your muscles. "I'll see you in two weeks," Satomura says to end the segment. We head to a commercial break after this.

Zoey Stark Is Sick Of Meiko Satomura

As we settle back in from the break, we see McKenzie Mitchell standing by with Zoey Stark. She asks her about the Sol Ruca vignette from earlier, but Stark doesn't want to hear about it.

She then asks Mitchell why Meiko Satomura is getting a title shot against NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez. She claims it's her shot and she's sick of seeing all the women kissing her ass to earn her respect. She says if Satomura ever steps in the ring with her, she'll show her "the real final boss."

Non-Title Match
Gallus (C) vs. Malik Blade & Edris Enofe

Now we settle back inside the CWC where we see the team of Malik Blade and Edris Enofe already in the ring waiting on the entrance of their opponents for our next match of the evening.

With that said, the reigning NXT World Tag-Team Champions Gallus make their way out and settle inside the squared circle for this non-title contest.

Mark Coffey and Malik Blade kick things off for their respective teams as the bell sounds to officially get this one off-and-running. Immediately we see the champs dominating the action. Wolfgang tags in and picks up where Coffey left off.

As Gallus continues to dominate the action, we see Pretty Deadly coming down to the ring with a giant birthday cake. Edris Enofe tags in and capitalizes on the brief distraction provided by Pretty Deadly, taking over on offense and beating down Wolfgang and Coffey by himself with high spots off the top-rope.

This doesn't last long, however, as Gallus takes back over and scores the pin fall moments later.

Winners: Gallus

Pretty Deadly With Savage Attack Of Gallus

The post-match scene shows Pretty Deadly coming into the ring with their giant cake, which they reveal is to acknowledge the two-year anniversary of when Pretty Deadly beat Gallus.

Gallus ends up knocking one of them face-first into the cake. This leads to a brawl where Pretty Deadly end up beating them down and brawling with them on the floor at ringside.

We see Pretty Deadly slam them into the steel ring steps and then hit a crazy double-team spot on the ring steps, before screaming "This is our division!"

Dabba-Kato Talks More About Turning On Apollo Crews

Now we shoot to a video package where we see Apollo Crews and then Dabba-Kato is shown talking directly into the camera as highlights are shown of the stuff he is talking about.

Tony D'Angelo vs. Von Wagner

We head back inside the CWC where Tony D'Angelo and Stacks make their way out and head down to the ring for our next match of the evening. They settle inside as we head to a pre-match commercial break.

As we settle back in from the break, we have a quick check-in with Stevie Turner on her Stream. She talks about Lyra Valkyria and then refuses any questions, instead ending the stream.

Now we see Von Wagner making his way into the ring, while Robert Stone takes a seat in a steel folding chair at ringside. The bell sounds and we're officially off-and-running with our next match of the evening.

Early on it's apparent that Von Wagner is fighting with more urgency and intensity than usual. All throughout he stops and checks in with Stone at ringside, asking if he saw what he did and clearly trying to impress the man who said the Jerry McGuire, "help me, help you!" line to him in recent weeks.

Wagner gets too distracted with this and we see Tony D'Angelo take over and ultimately finish him off for the pin fall victory.

Winner: Tony D'Angelo

Tony D'Angelo With A Message For Dijak

Now we shoot to an in-ring post match interview with Tony D'Angelo, who first commends Stacks on showing loyalty to he and the family. He then turns his attention to the camera and sends a message to Dijak, challenging him to a Jailhouse Street Fight at NXT Roadblock 2023.

Nikkita Lyons Gives Update, Confronted By Tiffany Stratton

We shoot backstage where McKenzie Mitchell is standing by with Nikkita Lyons. She gives an update on her road to recovery from injury and is then asked if she knows who attacked her in the parking lot.

As she continues talking, in comes Tiffany Stratton who is critical of Lyons. Lyons says she "sounds sus." Tiffany questions what that is and then mentions how she's got better things to do than attack Lyons in the parking lot.

Backstage With Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley

Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley are shown backstage. Ivy asks about her mental state and assures her that they're a team. Tatum hesitantly agrees and the two walk off as we head to another commercial break.

Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams Talk With Tyler Bate

Now we shoot backstage where we see Trick Williams nursing his hand / arm when in comes Carmelo Hayes. Hayes talks about how impressed he was with Trick earlier tonight. Trick thanks him and mentions wanting to get something to eat.

Hayes says he wants to keep his eye on the main event and hang around until then. In comes Tyler Bate with some words, which Trick says sounded like some Dr. Seuss stuff.

Hayes tells Bate that sounds good and he's glad his journey has nothing to do with the NXT Championship, because that's his -- respectfully. He and Trick walk off.

Alba Fyre vs. Ivy Nile

We head back inside the CWC and see Ivy Nile already in the ring with Tatum Paxley in her corner. The familiar sounds of Alba Fyre's theme hits and out she comes and settles in the ring as well.

The bell sounds and we're officially off-and-running with this one. We see Alba start off strong but then Ivy Nile taps into her inner-Hulk-mode and starts unleashing on Alba. We see Isla Dawn at ringside as well.

Fyre takes back over and front-suplexes Nile down face-first. As the action continues, we see Tatum get bumped off the apron by accident by Nile. Nile then turns around and is taken out by Fyre for the pin fall victory.

Winner: Alba Fyre

Wes Lee Issues Another NXT North American Title Challenge

Now we shoot to McKenzie Mitchell who is standing by with NXT North American Champion Wes Lee. She congratulates him on his open challenge last week and asks him what is on the horizon for NXT Roadblock and NXT Stand & Deliver.

He says he doesn't want to overlook what's right in front of him and says he's going to give another NXT North American Championship Open Challenge for next week. Mitchell says this puts him at a disadvantage and asks why he keeps doing this. "It's just who I am, girl" he says before walking off.

NXT World Championship
Bron Breakker (C) vs. Jinder Mahal

We head back inside the CWC where the theme hits to bring out Jinder Mahal. "The Modern Day Maharaja" emerges alongside Indus Sher and heads to the ring for our main event of the evening.

Mahal settles inside and his music dies down. The theme for his opponent hits and out comes the reigning and defending NXT World Champion. Bron Breakker emerges barking and the fans bark with him.

Breakker heads to the ring for this defense of his NXT World Championship in the headline bout of the evening here on this week's edition of NXT on USA.

Now that both men are inside the squared circle, the bell sounds and we're officially off-and-running with our final match of the evening. We see Mahal out-powering Breakker coming out of the gate, throwing the champ down and taunting him, reminding him he is a former WWE Champion.

We see Breakker knock Mahal out to the floor and he hits a big dive and splashes onto him on the floor. We see Indus Sher trying to get involved and out runs The Creed Brothers to make the save, beating down Indus Sher as the action between Breakker and Mahal resumes in the ring.

On that note, we head to a mid-match, picture-in-picture commercial break as the match continues. When we return from the break, we see Mahal being controlled by Breakker in the ring. The champ has Mahal's arm isolated and he tosses him and drops him on his dome for a close near fall.

From there, Mahal takes over and beats Breakker down. The action spills out to the floor where Mahal repeatedly rams Breakker into the steel ring steps. He brings him back in the ring and goes for a cover, but Breakker kicks out before the count of three.

Breakker fights his way back into the offensive driver's seat and then pulls his straps down and plays to the crowd. Mahal sees Breakker setting him up for the finish and rolls out to the floor. Breakker goes out after him but Mahal catches him and then returns the action to the ring where he tries finishing him off to no avail.

Mahal looks for other ways to finish him off and heads to the top-rope. Breakker recovers, however, and sprints up to the top-rope and joins Mahal, ala Kurt Angle in his prime. The champ brings the challenger down the hard way and then heads back up to the ropes himself.

He looks for a bulldog but Mahal catches him on the way down. He looks for his finisher but Breakker counters out of it and blasts him with a Spear for the pin fall victory. With the win, Bron Breakker retains his NXT World Championship.

Bron Breakker celebrates with his NXT World Championship in the ring as highlights are shown of the key moments in the match. Afterwards, Breakker's celebration continues as we see Carmelo Hayes staring him down from inside the CWC.

Winner and STILL NXT World Champion: Bron Breakker
