WWE Raw Starts Strong But Crashes to New Record Low Against NBA Competition

-- Last night's WWE Raw drew a record non-holiday low viewership, generating only 2.125 million viewers, down from last week's 2.405 million. The only shows that have been watched by less people were the December 24 and January 31 editions of Raw this past winter on the eve of Christmas and New Year's, respectively.

-- The big NBA finals playoff game had a lot to do with Raw's abysmal rating, as 18.22 million people tuned into the basketball game. Among shows on cable, Raw was 7th on the night in total viewership but #1, #3 and #4 in the 18-49 demographic. Monday night was the last evening that Raw would be in competition with the NBA playoffs as Game Six is scheduled for Thursday and Game Seven (if necessary) is on Sunday. After that, it would be relatively smooth sailing for WWE until the NFL season resumes in the fall.

-- Hourly figures are below, as seen by a strong first hour (which did not go head-to-head against the NBA game) and then hours two and three pretty much collapsed after basketball started.

* Hour 1 - 2.380 million
* Hour 2 - 2.086 million
* Hour 3 - 1.909 million
