WWE Raw Updates: Two Titles Change Hands, Nikki Bella Turns Heel, "The Last Time Is Now" Tournament Matches

Last night's WWE Raw, which was promoted as John Cena's final Raw in his hometown of Boston, featured several noteworthy developments:

  • The aforementioned faced Dominik Mysterio for the WWE Intercontinental title and ended up winning the only title that has eluded him throughout his legendary career. Following the match, Cena made his way to the back and was congratulated by multiple stars including Rey Mysterio and Cody Rhodes. With the win, Cena becomes a Grand Slam champion before his retirement and he only has three scheduled appearances left: next week's Raw in New York, Survivor Series in San Diego, and then his last match at next month's Saturday Night's Main Event.
  • Cena also took the opportunity to announce that Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13 will feature exhibition matches between WWE and NXT talent.
  • WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella turned heel on Raw by attacking Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer following Vaquer's match against Raquel Rodriguez. After Bella made the save for Vaquer, she turned on her and attacked Vaquer with the belt. It would appear as if the two are headed for a match sooner than later.
  • The Kabuki Warriors - Asuka and Kairi Sane - are the new WWE Women's Tag Team champions. The duo defeated Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss after Lash Legend and Nia Jax emerged from the audience and interfered. After the match, the four heels beat down on Bliss and Flair until IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley made their respective returns to TV making it a four-on-four situation, which will now play out at Survivor Series in the form of a WarGames match.
  • Rusev defeated Damian Priest and and Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to become the first two wrestlers to advance in the "Last Time Is Now" tournament to determine John Cena's last opponent.
  • More competitors in the "Last Time Is Now" 16-man tournament were also revealed on WWE Raw last night. While The Miz vs. Jey Uso and LA Knight vs. a mystery opponent were already set for Friday's Smackdown, next week's Raw will see Je'Von Evans take on Gunther while Solo Sikoa will take on another mystery opponent. That would leave two matches featuring four wrestlers yet to be announced with those matches likely to take place next week on the 11/21 episode of Smackdown.
