WWE Reportedly Has Big Plans For NXT Star Roderick Strong

According to Fightful Select, prior to Roderick Strong quitting as part of the storyline and his wife Marina Shafir being released on June 25th as well as The Diamond Mine faction making its debut on NXT TV, Strong had already signed a new contract with the company earlier this year, and is set for a big push. NXT reportedly has huge plans for 2021, which is to further push the cruiserweight division and the cruiserweight title, and Roderick Strong is part of those plans.

Strong recently made his return as part of The Diamond Mine stable and immediately went after the NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida. A number of reports have mentioned that NXT talents have been removed off of NXT TV only to be brought back later on after agreeing to new deals. Despite several wrestlers being released as of late, there are also those who have agreed to new deals.

There is no word yet on when Kushida will defend his NXT Cruiserweight Title against Roderick Strong, but updates will be provided once it becomes available.
