On a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that WWE officials are looking to limit the age of new developmental signings to under 30. The Observer also notes that officials in the WWE are very aware of the aging aspect of the roster and of those in developmental, which has led to a new doctrine when it comes to talent acquisitions.
According to the new doctrine, unless a special situation arises where the upcoming talent is someone who is really good or has a lot of potential, or even a talent who had a name before signing with the WWE, then the company wants to limit new developmental signings to talent under the age of 30.
Taya Valkyrie, who is 37 years old, and LA Knight, who is 38 years old, are part of WWE's Performance Center class recent recruits, but they fit the category of talents who had a name before signing with the company.
