WWE Reportedly Interested in Former IMPACT Champion Who Is Now a Free Agent

-- As reported earlier today, Nick Aldis returned to IMPACT Wrestling a couple of months ago leading into this past weekend's Slammiversary PPV and according to pwinsiderelite.com, his time with the company is now done after just a few short weeks. Aldis originally re-signed with IMPACT on a short-term contract and the report notes that it went exactly as planned from a timeline perspective, meaning his anticipated run wasn't cut short or anything like that. As of today, Aldis is 100% a free agent.

-- With his status as a free agent now public knowledge, the report added that WWE appear to be highly interested in signing the former NWA and IMPACT champion as a potential producer within the company. The talk backstage was that WWE may bring him in on a trial basis for that role beginning in August before deciding whether they want to sign him to an agreement. WWE had previously been interested in Aldis at the beginning of the year after he exited NWA and at that time, they were looking at securing his services as a wrestler.
