WWE Reportedly Interested In Multiple AEW Names Whose Contracts Are Expiring This Year

-- Yesterday, a report emerged that indicated that AEW's Rey Fenix and Penta were set to become free agents over the next couple of months and that not only are they interested in jumping ship to WWE but that there may already be an offer on the table, though no one will confirm that in order to avoid tampering allegations. PWInsiderelite.com reports that WWE is actually interested in "a number of AEW stars" who have deals that are coming close to ending or those who have been off TV and aren't being used.

-- The report adds that WWE sources stated that there is "certainly interest" in these talents once they are "free and clear" but the speculation is that there has already been contact made, likely indirectly through third parties.

-- Ricky Starks was a name brought up as someone not featured on AEW programming for quite a while and he is an interesting name due to his close friendship with WWE's Cody Rhodes. Starks has been backstage at multiple WWE PLEs ever since Cody returned and it is believed that if WWE were interested in bringing him on, he would immediately be ready for the main roster.

-- Another name mentioned in the report is Daniel Garcia, who was described as fitting the prototype of talent that WWE is looking to invest in and develop within NXT. Garcia's AEW contract is close to ending and he hasn't re-signed yet which is why AEW ran the angle with MJF taking him out.
